  • When I used iOS it turned out that it was f-droid and the dead simple availability of Foss apps that was actually the killer apps for me than whatever polished app version iOS might. Something I didn't appreciate fully until I entered the nightmare of trying to find no subscription and non ad filled apps.

  • Yeah, best camera to me is one you'll always have on you. I don't even has a dslr and likely will never bother, since I don't really go places with the specific intent of taking photos. So whatever is conveniently at hand is what wins out.

  • Google Pixels are the absolute best phones for custom roms and ones I feel best about when it comes to software support outlasting the hardware because of that. All the other phones might have better internals, but it's the growing animosity towards unlocking bootloaders and rise in prices of phones hitting laptop prices without the long term software support to match that makes it seem less appealing than pixels to me.

  • I've come across people who didn't know Instagram is owned by Facebook, and people who thought meta and Facebook were different companies. I thought the rename was the stupidest thing ever until I saw it did actually work on some people.

  • That is pretty intersting. If I had a fold I wonder how many times I'd open it daily. I would definitely flip it open and closed repeatedly throughout the day just to pass the time even when not intending to look at the screen.

  • I played this game when the PS3 was the latest console, so I guess not to far back from release memory is hazy. Played it through pcsx2 if that gives a time frame, but back then I thought the movement was kind of slow and clunky and atmosphere cool but world empty. That was probably the point though. Maybe I didn't appreciate it back then, but I thought the sizes of the monsters were cool.

I do wonder how the remake is in comparison.

  • Enter different profile depending on the finger print or pin you use.

Have attempts left before device is erased be something you can have be misleading, so show there's 10 attempts but really there's only 4.

Be able to feed false permission data to apps so even without sandboxing it won't see your contact list and mic access doesn't actually give access to the real mic.

  • The thickness is especially nice. I used grip attachments with the switch which at that point made it nearly as long as the Deck. They did not design those joycons for regular hands. If the controls were detachable on the deck I'd be using it as my main controller. I really want a comfortable joycons style wireless controller.

  • What I've liked best is that the settings menus makes it so that the game can scale with your hardware. So if you have the capable hardware you aren't left waiting a decade for a remaster release and nextgen console release to play with some settings turned up.

  • I've played lot of games on the PC without issue like lollipop chainsaw, asura's wrath, drakengard 3, and shadows of the damned without issue at 4k/60. Was really surprising to me, but rpcs3 has made great strides and if a game has been marked playable it's been a fantastic experience. And that's with someone unaffiliated with Sony making it possible. Seeing what Xbox accomplished with Xbox One when it came to 360 compatability it wouldn't surprise me if Sony did better than what RPCS3 did.

There's some notable attention given the games that don't emulate well like MGS4 and red dead with it coming across as buggy, but lot of other titles do run really well as if they were official remastered ports.
