  • Agreed theft is always a issue, there are ways to try and mitigate it. Proper storage, dedicated parking, lighting, cameras or security. Not all all 100% full proof though, not going to lie. Cars even get broken into when all these above listed items are in place.

Side note, I know in Europe it's common to have a secondary "beater bike" in the city, you ride your bike to the train in your local town, then grab your beater in the city train station.

  • There are rental buildings and condominiums.

Rental buildings are "obviously" rented. The building is owned by one owner/company and operated by a management firm to oversees the property.

Condominiums have units that are owned by owners. Condominiums have boards which are run by owners. The owners hire a management firm to run the property and oversee day to day operations.

Unfortunately, many new buildings going up in Toronto as a example are predominantly rental properties. These are built by private investors that own the property and rent units out.

Generally these rental units are created as small as legally possible to maximise profits.

What I find fascinating in some EU countries is you can get a group of 10-15 strangers get together to build themselves a co-op building/condo. They get together, pool their investments, buy a parcel and build themselves a 3-4 story building that looks like any other building in the surrounding area. No private/forgin investors involved or needed.

(Co-op short for cooperative, its a business or organization democratically owned and controlled by its members, who share common needs and interests.)

  • These 200 plus individual have been villainized so badly that the general public is eating up the propaganda and allowing the government to strip the public of rights and due process. The shaved heads, chains and prison uniform solidify this perception.

My own parents who are immigrant's themselves think they are the "good ones"

  • All the kids are using "the cloud" these days. Which is just a fancy proprietary server somewhere with spinning drives.

The youngest seem to be on board with a full cloud OS.

To me "the cloud" just mean you dont own your own product, not to mention the privacy issues. Spinning local HDD for me any day.

    The cloud = Monthly Subscription

  • Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem visited the library.

According to Boudreau, when Noem visited she stood on the American side and said "U.S.A. No. 1" and then, after crossing onto the Canadian side, said "the 51st state." Boudreau said Noem did this multiple times.

    Wtf!

  • Is this one of those libraries that the border runs right down the middle of the building?

Also, how can the US restrict entry to the Canadian side/property...

Canada should just pick up it's half and move it 20 metres over.

  • I always imagined quantum entangled particles would be useful in information transmission. Probably not directly, such as the particles transmiting the information themselves, but in a way potentially vibrating a particle on one end and getting the same vibrations on the other end. Depending on the vibrations you deduced the information.

Obviously sending one of the entangled particles to another destination would be as slow as the fastest mode of transport.

But i wonder if we had a entangled communication device on either of the voyages probes if we would be able to send commands to them from earth with no lag in transmission.

  • Very cool, I wonder if a quantum link like this needs a clear line of sight. What would be the limits of quantum communication like this? It would be amazing to be able to achieve real time communication between planetary bodies for example.

  • I have been doing the same, buying the batteries off brand individually is a lot cheaper then OEM labeled/packaged.

Though what are your thought's on a UPS lifespan not taking in to account the batteries themselves?

I myself have three APC BR1500MS2
