  • Size matters. A bigger screen is a big quality of life improvement for both work and content consumption.

On the other hand, a smaller and lighter laptop is more comfortable to use and carry. Personally i think 13" is the ideal laptop size. If you want to use it more as a desktop replacement, you can always plug in a monitor.

  • Star Rail isnt an mmo. And while it has many "progression mechanics", they are slowly introduced to the player. And once you understand them, you dont really need to think that much about them. It is basically an anime+idle game.

You watch your anime episode every now and then and you afk farm daily for a couple mins(so that your characters slowly become stronger). You dont need to think loads of time to understand them but i guess it depends on what you mean by loads of times. Maybe i have played many games(mobile and conventional), so i dont have any issues with the systems.

If you want to build a character, you can choose them and the game will highlight their ideal "gear" and "stats", though those recommendations arent always perfect. If you want to tryhard, you can use this site

    https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/tier-list/

And see what gear and stats are ideal for your character. Or just use your brain. Most dps like crit damage/rate, attack and speed. Most supports really love speed. Or watch a guoba video about the character you want to gear. Ultimately, if you afk grind gear, it doesnt take a giant brain to understand that the dps set, wants dps stats, or that the break set wants break damage stats.

  • I used to believe that too, because it was pointless. But it seems that i was wrong. The fact that it was pointless, means that the corporations felt comfortable with using and abusing that to maximize profit. The fact that they are afraid to do that, indicates how fucked things are now.

So i am ok with corporations using movements for marketing reasons, because ultimately this is the canary in the mine. If the corporations consider it a brand risk, then society is moving towards the wrong direction.

  • First, Canada should just join Eurovision. This should be mandatory IMO, for all european members, candidates and future prospects.

But realzies, Canada is just too far away. They can get a trade deal and join in for certain policies(environmental, etc) but ultimately, unions mostly make sense for neighbours. I dont think either the EU or Canada will benefit that much from a union, at least for now. Maybe in a few decades, after both sides integrate better and have common policies, things will be different. However, if globalization collapses and the US keeps going the way it is going, i can see this accelerating things.

  • Noone identifies as rich, because as you become richer, your social circle also becomes richer. So you never really feel rich, because there are other people who are, significantly, richer than you.

If you dont worry about food, shelter and healthcare then you are rich(or at least "middle class"), ie free to do whatever the fuck you want with no risk or fear. You can have very low personal net worth but if your family(and/or society) has your back, no matter what, then you are not poor.

And since Norway has one of the highest home ownership rates, among non shitty countries, then even from a networth point of view, most norwegians probably have 500k+ € networth. Most countries with high home ownership are poor countries, where houses are cheap and shitty(people are migrating out of the country, so a lot of houses are available). Or countries like China and Singapore, where housing is a major priority for the government.

And in before "communism", Singapore is one of the most capitalistic countries on the planet. But providing housing is a big part of their social contract and how the dictatorship has managed to maintain control over the country for over half a century with minimum opposition. And tbh, the chinese government is similar. Authoritarian but provides economic prosperity/housing in order to keep society stable. Also communist mostly in name but actually capitalistic.

  • A lot of turks living in Germany are(or descended from) poor, uneducated, turkish farmers who were imported to Germany many decades ago, as cheap labour, when Germany needed workers.

Not all immigrants(turkish or otherwise) are like that.

  • I think homosexuality has reached a level of societal acceptance(at least in the west), that it is ok to be ironically homophobic again.

Then again, some might argue that being against nazis was a societal norm, so being ironically nazi was fine too. Yet here we are now, where being unironically nazi is somewhat acceptable by a large part of the society.

  • Tha Taliban are fighting against ISIS-K. ISIS-K is the terrorist organisation behind the terrorist attacks in Russia. I am pretty sure that even the US had some backchannel communication with the Taliban, in order to drone strike ISIS-K targets in Afghanistan(after the US had left Afghanistan).

  • It is easy to say this when you are just a rando on the internet. But these politicians are responsible for the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Keeping the tariffs because a manchild is in charge of the most powerful country, would have had significant negative effects on those lives.

The only thing we can do is pivot the EU away from the US, slowly, while building its military/IT capabilities. Trump(and the US) will suffer eventually. Treating the global economy like a shitcoin has severe long term consequences, consequences that will not be reversible for decades, if not centuries.

But in order to do this while causing as little damage as possible to Europe, it will take time(at least a decade or two).

  • I mean he is a lawyer, who fought for the environment for decades. You dont become a successful lawyer by reading tweets, you need to actually read and put effort. He is not like most of trump's cabinet, even though he is a conspiracy theorist and a flawed human(though with the upbringing he had, i cant imagine any human coming out as normal).
