See if you can find a community on a more local instance. Even a UK based one will be able to give you better advice.
I read your thread and it was pure comedy. Americans don't realise their construction methods are the exception to the rules; they would make their houses from wet toilet roll if they could
Same goes for plumbing and electrics, never ask questions on a US-centric community; they just started blabbering about their "codes" which are utterly irrelevant in the rest of the world
Your wall is absolutely fine; when you put the plasterboard up you'll still be able to mark where the uprights are to fix your cabinets.
I once posted a question about drilling a hole in my outside wall, which was a problem because they're just under 50cm thick. Got told "They can't be 50cm thick buddy, that's nearly two feet, go measure again"
Fuckin idiots
Edit - I just remembered, they know fuck all about plasterboard fixings either, because theirs is about as thick as paper. Molly fixings will do most of the stuff you'll need, but also have a look at the new Fischer Duotec fixings; they're fuckin excellent. Avoid those stupid gimmicky round ones where you have to drill a massive hole, can't remember the name but it'll come to me
