  • Yeah I get that but it just sounds absurd and douchey when you think about it. The equivalent would sorta be if someone agreed to help us if we gave them $67 Trillion worth of oil gas and wood in return.

And just from a morality/ethical standpoint it's goofy. Only help someone if they let you bend them over and rob them blind (I get it's a more nuanced than that but still, it just feels slimy)

Mr. Sergio Gor Director of Presidential Personnel The White House

    Dear Mr. Gor:

I am writing in response to your email sent to me and other Inspectors General earlier this evening wherein you informed each of us that “due to changing priorities, your position as Inspector General . . . is terminated, effective immediately.”

As Chairperson of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), I recommend that you reach out to White House Counsel to discuss your intended course of action. At this point, we do not believe the actions taken are legally sufficient to dismiss Presidentially Appointed, Senate Confirmed Inspectors General.

Specifically, based upon the 2022 amendments to the Inspector General Act of 1978, the President must notify Congress 30 days prior to removal of an IG and provide “substantive rationale, including detailed and case-specific reasons” for such removal. 5 U.S.C. § 403(b), as amended by the section 5202(a) of the Securing Inspector General Independence Act of 2022 (Title LII, Subtitle A, of P.L. 117-263, 136 Stat. 2395, 3222). The requirement to provide the substantive rationale, including detailed and case specific reasons, was added to better enable Congress to engage on and respond to a proposed removal of an Inspector General in order to protect the independence of Inspectors General.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at Hannibal.Ware@sba.gov. Sincerely,

    Hannibal “Mike” Ware CIGIE Chairperson

Cc: Rand Paul, Chairman, Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affiairs Gary Peters, Ranking Member, Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs James Comer, Chairman, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Gerald Connolly, Ranking Member, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

  • She's in a tough spot because she dislikes a lot of what the Democratic party is doing and also refuses to even meet with lobbyists let alone take their money. To a ton of everyday people these are very good things but to either of the parties this is an enemy to the party that doesn't have the firepower to win an election. Of course, I would absolutely love to be wrong on this but history (especially recently) is not on her side.

  • It's always crazy to me how frequently this is overlooked. If you went out and asked 1000 random ppl what the legal age was in the country, I feel like pretty much all of them would say 18. I could've sworn it was 18 nationally like my entire life until a few years ago when I found this out.

  • I enjoy assassin's creed type games and I know this isn't a hot take or anything but man are those games bloated with boring ass time waster side quests. Starts to feel like a job after a bit and I hate it. I really wish they would just focus on a solid core campaign story and leave the billion little errands on the cutting room floor. But I get that some people love just hunting stuff down and checking them off a list so idk. Just feels like they're focusing more on maximizing the time you're playing the game rather than just having fun playing it.

  • Pshhh Putin stays in power cause the people love him. He won with 88% of the vote! And if you're going to sit there and tell me that Russia of all places didn't have a fair and free election, well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

  • When asked if he would cut all aid to Ukraine if a peace deal can't be brokered he said:

The reason that I don’t like to tell you this is that, as a negotiator, when I sit down and talk to some very brilliant young people: young, young, young, young. Compared to me, you’re very young. But when I talk to people—when I start I think I have a very good plan to help, but when I start exposing that plan, it becomes almost a worthless plan.

There are almost too many wtf's in this quote to tackle lol. What the hell is this answer.
