What is the legal argument against this? The article was paywalled, but the summay only says that past presidents have respected agency independence. That sounds like just a gentlemans agreement. Nothing legally binding. So do the challenges have a leg to stand on?

My understanding is that not everything is available that way though. I had a friend say they tried to get star trek the motion picture. And while it was there. A month later he still only had half of it. Thats a pretty big name movie to be so hard to get.

The "leaders" of the human race have a long history of shaping "the people"s lives so that they suseptible to being convinced by poloticians. It's like fighting against the addictive powers of social media. They hire the best to make it addictive. Many people just can't mentally compete. That said, voter turnout was 64%, so only 32% ish voted for this. And a large part were probably dupped by the messaging.

yep. But the subject on the thread was that there is software that does a lot of what an air traffic controller does, but we currently make it's recommendations go through a person first. And he/she was saying it should skip the ATC and go straight to the aircraft, so we don't need as many ATC's. Auto-pilot today is basically the same thing as to how that software is used today. The pilot turns it on. And they can turn it off very quickly. So they are still always there checking up on the technology. Taking the human completely out of the loop would be a very big difference. And I am not saying that software couldn't be written that we could trust. Just that our current society keep software in a race to the bottom quality-wise. So there isn't enough people with the experience it would take to do it totally perfectly that can be hired to work on it. And the government certainly would never pay them enough if they could be found.

Have you ever used software... it ain't great. They also have software that can land planes. You wanna volunteer for those flights?

So if they are on different disks, does that keep windows from eating the linux bootloader? Also, do you use something other than UEFI to manage which OS boots? Seems like a lot of people just use UEFI if things are on different disks.

Books, podcasts, niche youtubers, video games. Jusy keep trying different subjects until you find something that interests you. Learning is usually a draw for a lot of people. You could also try volunteering in some way. Maybe that will be more fulfilling.

My opinion is that over time, some unions get too powerful and start getting unreasonable demands met. Then they need some kind of break up or what not. This would be a way to do that I suppose. Though there must be a better way. I think the police union has crossed over the tipping point. But I don’t think I would back this approach either.

It's not that he wouldn't do it... but that it would hurt rich people, so they would litterally kill him. Then Vance would come in and assure everyone that the US would make good on them all.

Seriously though. Publicity doesn't make you a person. You know who else thinks it does. Trump. And thinking that way gets us more people in control who care more about image than doing anything. A better ending to that post would have focused on the accomplishments, not the person. Like noting that it was that easy to make womens accomplishments dissapear or something like that.

I mean part of it was good financial sense. Money saved early has longer to grow. But I don’t think they "needed" the money that bad. Two full time jobs is nuts. And there were plenty more instances where he clearly communicated that work ethic was equal to a persons value. But yeah, he was a good Dad.

Ever wonder how "work ethic" became a trait that defines the quality of an individual? You can probably guess. Religion. Which of course needed people to work hard so they could donate more money to them.

My dad worked two full time jobs for a while to help the family get ahead while we were little. I think spending time with his young children would have been time better spent for everyone. He did stop when we got to school age. And he did spend a lot of time with us. Was a scout master, tball coach, all that. So I know he probably would have rather been with us than working that extra job. But from a young age it was drilled into him that work came first.

Now with younger people less into religion. We see more and more who realize that working hard for someone else doesn't need to be a defining characterist of a person's quality.
