  • I've been playing Grounded recently. I've been finding it pretty fun, even when played solo. Although some aspects were a bit confusing or felt slightly padded (likely due to playing solo). I have also been wanting to get back into monster hunter wilds so I'll likely try that again soon. It's been a lot of fun as well but oooh those menus on menus can get overwhelming.

I've been very curious about the switch 2 and the price increases that will likely hit the market. I'm slightly afraid they might try to jack up prices on existing games, so I'm debating if I should snag some now or hold off. I've wanted to play some of the xenoblades and the newest Mario party!

  • It's kind of funny to me that people attempting to correct various wrongs in society are still punished by society.

I understand that it's to discourage this behavior overall. But it seems so interesting to me that various people have various lines that they would draw in the sand as to what is acceptable and what is not.

It's kind of almost a "winner writes history" kind of moment. Depending on what group is in power, they will decide what would be acceptable. In this particular case, some people thought it would be acceptable to control the bodily autonomy of women to the point where it could lead to their deaths. But it's okay if they kill people that way. Because it was written into law by people in power.

Ideally, we would live in a society where we could work an issue like this out civilly. But I guess we don't, and this is what happens.

  • If the price on games is actually what people are saying it's going to be? And it never drops? Nah I wouldn't buy. I agree it feels...disrespectful to their fans.

It would have to be the best animal crossing or zelda game in the past 20 years. And I would have to ensure I'm getting it for cheaper in some way, shape, or form.

I certainly wouldn't be buying it directly for full price. Likely used or something. I don't have the money to justify that kind of purchase. The console price I can kind of understand, but the games seems ridiculous. I have a backlog of titles to play, and I only buy when I can get a sale or a discount. Heck, the rpg's I haven't gotten around to on the switch 1 would probably last me 5 years alone lol

If I had to guess, I bet they'll reduce the cost of the console within a year.

They might decide against charging so much for their games? That might be less likely but they haven't confirmed the game prices yet

  • Honestly, aside from the elephant in the room, things are going okay ish. Can't complain.

I've been trying to find some kind of fidget toy/object to help with anxiety while I'm working, but I can't seem to find something I like. Unsure of what I actually would need? So it's kind of an experiment.

I got a Shashibo cube the other day and it's neat, but you kinda need both hand to really do much with it, so I'm thinking the next thing I find might be something I can use one handed.

  • I'm really curious how the rumored price increases on games will change the entire market (if any). Currently, I have no plans on getting a switch 2 until either a must-have exclusive pops up or until there's some price drops. I just don't see how they can expect the average family to be able to afford the new games.

Then, on top of this, slap tarrifs on for Americans and oof I feel for you all right now. It's... unprecedented territory we're in right now. I hope things stabilize soon

  • I appreciate the Sharpie reference, lol

Has anyone made a book or website documenting all the crazy things that he's done? I feel like they would have at least a couple thousand moments to write about. It seems like we get to see something absurd, horrifying, or hilarious daily. It feels like far too much to keep track of, which is probably the point

  • Kinda surprised to see Shenmue at #1 It did incorporate multiple gameplay loops and detail that wasn't usually seen at the time (or even today for that matter). It also introduced quick time events.

I guess I'm just surprised people care about it or know about it. Whenever I talk about that series people don't seem to know what I'm talking about lol

  • I am very curious how they're going to tackle regional pricing on games. $80 USD converts to $115 Canadian. No other console is pricing their games that way. At least not yet (thanks nintendo) But that would be a $25-35 increase compared to Ps5 and Xbox games.

For being a family console, it seems like a very weird decision when we've been hit with such bad inflation and wage stagnation in the past 5 years. I cannot see as families springing for a switch 2 as they did for the switch 1.

I am seriously considering waiting until a must have title comes out at this point because the price to value just isn't checking out at the moment. It seems odd. The only thing I can think of is that Nintendo has to have some very good games cooking for the future because this immediate presentation was...underwhelming?

Edit: Thinking about it more, if they did price their games that way, I think it would completely price me out of new games all together. I would have to absolutely know 100% that I'm going to love a game and play it for a very long time to justify that kind of price. Very few games do that for me. I feel like that kind of price increase would encourage illegal downloads too. Especially for countries with weaker currencies

  • I've heard that young men today are leaning right more often lately. But I don't really understand where that's coming from. I mean, I'm probably biased because I purposefully avoid that content and likely see more content that leans left. But I thought today's youth have been better educated on these subjects.

I suppose that probably depends where in the world they live among other factors. I hope it's not true
