  • Lol, no worries. I guess my question is kinda hard to answer.

Good thing I'm hungry, then I suppose :) Honestly, my plan is to one day try to inch my way to some kind of sustainable living situation where I can reduce my needed spending as much as possible and just live in a way that reduces all stress.

I'm not sure if it's practical yet or just a pipe dream, but it's keeping me moving forward, so good enough, I suppose lol

  • My concern at this point is that when people eventually reclaim power and overthrow the dictatorship, the other members that willfully participated in all of this will not be held accountable and will get away free, or even worse will be allowed back into a democratic government again.

I'm kinda skipping over the majority of the timeline here. But eventually, these people need to be held accountable for the countless crimes they have committed and the worse crimes that have yet to come. The majority of the republican party should see prison for life at this rate.

  • So interestingly enough. I work, play, and sleep in the exact same 5 feet nowadays. But I remember that initial feeling all too well from when I graduated and found work.

Similar to what someone else said, I'm always exhausted. I don't think that feeling really goes away. I think the difference is that eventually, you kind of get used to the exhaustion. It doesn't feel good by any means. But my brain has given into it and adapted slightly. I still hate it, but I've kind of adapted.

Do you drink coffee? I resisted it for a few years and then eventually gave in when I realized I wasn't able to function well without it. Mainly because I'm sacrificing sleep during the week. Partly due to bedtime procrastination, and also partly due to stress/anxiety. During the week, I'm getting about 6 hours of sleep each night. Not enough, in my opinion

It also depends on what the rest of your schedule looks like outside of work. When I had to work in the office, I was losing an extra 2-3 hours of my day every day.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way, though. It's not a very fun time. I wish everyone could have a better work-life balance

  • Thanks for sharing that, I wasn't aware of that event in Ukraine. I should read up on it more

I think we still have hope. I think we just have to wait for another spark. Another unfortunate moment that will spur people to action.

Similar to the George Floyd protests. One action that people can't look away from and will cause the pressure to burst. I believe we'll see it at some point. It's gona suck but I think positive change will come

I've also been wondering why we haven't seen people act out more. But I wonder if it's just because it hasn't hit close enough to home yet. Maybe everything has been too surreal for people to digest? Or maybe people are afraid to act and don't feel like they'll have someone watching their back? I'm really not sure.

  • Just a thought I had about your mentioning of the protests. For now, the protests aren't doing a whole lot. Or at least they seem like they aren't doing enough. But there's some things that they have done.

    1. showing how many people showed up to those protests encourages more people to go to the next protests in the future. It also might bring people hope that there are lots of rational people living around them. It starts the possibility for a conversation and action between people. It helps organize people.
    2. Trump is setting up more and more anti protest bills. Eventually, he's going to get pissed and send the police after these protesters. This could be a catalyst for riots and further action. As shitty as it would be for people to get hurt or worse. It seems that escalation is the one thing that gets good people moving, fighting, and defending.
  • I've been playing Grounded recently. I've been finding it pretty fun, even when played solo. Although some aspects were a bit confusing or felt slightly padded (likely due to playing solo). I have also been wanting to get back into monster hunter wilds so I'll likely try that again soon. It's been a lot of fun as well but oooh those menus on menus can get overwhelming.

I've been very curious about the switch 2 and the price increases that will likely hit the market. I'm slightly afraid they might try to jack up prices on existing games, so I'm debating if I should snag some now or hold off. I've wanted to play some of the xenoblades and the newest Mario party!

  • It's kind of funny to me that people attempting to correct various wrongs in society are still punished by society.

I understand that it's to discourage this behavior overall. But it seems so interesting to me that various people have various lines that they would draw in the sand as to what is acceptable and what is not.

It's kind of almost a "winner writes history" kind of moment. Depending on what group is in power, they will decide what would be acceptable. In this particular case, some people thought it would be acceptable to control the bodily autonomy of women to the point where it could lead to their deaths. But it's okay if they kill people that way. Because it was written into law by people in power.

Ideally, we would live in a society where we could work an issue like this out civilly. But I guess we don't, and this is what happens.

  • If the price on games is actually what people are saying it's going to be? And it never drops? Nah I wouldn't buy. I agree it feels...disrespectful to their fans.

It would have to be the best animal crossing or zelda game in the past 20 years. And I would have to ensure I'm getting it for cheaper in some way, shape, or form.

I certainly wouldn't be buying it directly for full price. Likely used or something. I don't have the money to justify that kind of purchase. The console price I can kind of understand, but the games seems ridiculous. I have a backlog of titles to play, and I only buy when I can get a sale or a discount. Heck, the rpg's I haven't gotten around to on the switch 1 would probably last me 5 years alone lol

If I had to guess, I bet they'll reduce the cost of the console within a year.

They might decide against charging so much for their games? That might be less likely but they haven't confirmed the game prices yet

  • Honestly, aside from the elephant in the room, things are going okay ish. Can't complain.

I've been trying to find some kind of fidget toy/object to help with anxiety while I'm working, but I can't seem to find something I like. Unsure of what I actually would need? So it's kind of an experiment.

I got a Shashibo cube the other day and it's neat, but you kinda need both hand to really do much with it, so I'm thinking the next thing I find might be something I can use one handed.
