With all my sympathy to Lemmy, I think it's rather the other way around. Lemmy users are using Reddit to promote Lemmy, and are hating on corporate social media.

You didn't end up here, but you are a product of this environment, and "you" couldn't be born anywhere else.

If they woud be one of the rare benevolent dictators, which can work better than democracy, I would stay.

You can also look at time like collection of snapshots, and that person won't become anything else.
