  • What I'm seeing is that once the ratio flips it's time to abandon all hope and move into another platform then?

    Damn.

  • The majority here don't share your views when it comes to Meta and that's a good thing. If you want to see what they do then there's nothing stopping you signing up a free account on Threads and having at it.

Meta will do whatever it wants to do in the fediverse space regardless of who federates with them because they are a muli-million user platform with the money to support it. The users of Lemmy are small fry compared to that.

  • So, one has to pay for the means of production including the land, which is just sitting there and required nobody to go to any effort?

    You see the problem there?

  • So there isn't the right nutrition available in plants to sustain every animal?

  • I'd be happy if Lemmy becomes like what Reddit was when it started and never grew beyond that. I don't need tons of clickbait outrage trash to doomscroll though every day.

  • I'd actually be fine with this.

Here they take the bloody parcel with them and I have to drive 5km away to some shithole convenience store to collect it. It is very much not convenient for me.

  • What if the animals just ate plants instead?

  • Anyone who grew up in the 90s knows that fish don't have any feelings anyway.

  • It cost

    <insert human created construct>

to feed people so let's let them starve instead. Nice one.

  • I use it medically prescribed by a doctor to help with my ex-military PTSD and chronic pain issues. I used to take 3 different crazy ass medications before that which turned me into a vegetable 24/7 so this is much better. I don't get couch locked and stop once I feel the effects.

I can see why some others might get the wrong impression by my username though haha.

  • It's worse than that, usually at govs and companies it's just incompetence.

In Reddit's case they actively chose to make it shitty because some MBA told them it'll improve engagement of their users and make them more dollars when they IPO.

  • A robo vacuum only seems silly until you have a decent one. Then it's noticeable how good it is.

  • Personally on a 1440p monitor or better I think middle aligned is better 🤷

  • I love me some good Empress drama.

  • The potato and gravy at KFC uses whatever crud fell to the bottom of the friers each day. Usually that was good chicken bits, but sometimes it could be whatever the staff were playing catch with for fun.

Oh and be nice to the people making your food. Trust me on that one.

  • Some people seem to have gotten the idea that Lemmy needs to grow and to do that it needs all this drivel posted to it. Not sure why tho.

  • Yes but you can access content from both of them from the other. Just browse to it or add the communities from the other to your subscriptions.

  • I'm hoping one day we'll have federated account management as part of the Fediverse so that you don't have to spin up a whole Lemmy instance and can create communities that are attached to that.
