I've been noticing lately that my Voyager app hasn't been properly showing posts ranked from newest, but the same few posts are always at the top of my feed until I refresh the page, and if I close the app it's back to the same (older) posts at the top of the feed. I'm not sure if it's related to the update, but it is definitely a newer development, so I thought I'd mention it here.
I quite enjoyed the book. I agree there wasn't much new, but it did feel like a nice stepping stone between Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and the original trilogy.
I also missed out on Redwall... I knew of it's existence, but somehow never got around to reading it... Until this year. I'm well into my 30's but I have enjoyed it so far! Definitely worth the read.
Returning to this thread to let you know I just finished The Stand! I quite enjoyed it and found quite a few similarities in theme between it and Station Eleven.
The version I got was the unabridged version, so it was a very long read, but I never felt like it was a slog, which is probably a testament to King's writing abilities.
I am not saying you specifically edited the image, but there may have been some brightening or color contrast adjustment at some point, which is what I meant when I said "enhanced". At the very least there may be some image compression from the many times the same image has been shared since 2013... In which case I suppose that would be "dehanced".
Not that there anything wrong with editing or "enhancing" images. All professional photographers do it in one way or another, and it has been practiced since the early days of photography.
I think it is important for people develop critical thinking skills in order to differentiate between A.I. and non-A.I. images. Far too often I have seen people believing the most absurd things are real. There is nothing wrong with people calling it out when they see something that doesn't look or feel right— even if, as is the case here, we are wrong in our assumptions.
A reverse image search brought me exact results from as early as 2013, which is long before A.I. was creating images like this.
I agree that something looks off about the image, and it's definitely enhanced in some way, but I don't believe it to be A.I. generated.
Once a new portrait subject has been selected, the banknote design process begins, and the banknote is ready to be issued a few years later,” Ferron-Craig told CTVNews.ca in an email on April 12.
So we can probably expect a banknote featuring king Charles in the next year or so.
You could try setting your app to "mark posts read on scroll" and "hide read posts" as a workaround of sorts... Then when it refreshes you won't see the same posts you've already seen.
I have not tried it myself, so I don't know how well it works or how annoying it is if you want to go back and find something again.
Saskatoon has 2 working historic theaters, but neither are quite as old as what's mentioned here(Broadway Theatre was built in the mid 40s and Roxy was opened in the 30s). I think it would be fantastic to revive more of those old theaters. They are beautiful additions to community.
I've quite enjoyed everything I've read by Stephen R. Lawhead. He puts a lot of research into his historical fiction, but also gives them a bit of a fantasy flair, which I like.
