  • I think you can learn a lot from apex even if it's not the obvious choice. For Counterstrike 2 the trailer was dropped, aggressively marketed and a beta was put in people's hands basically at the same time solidifying the game is good. Then it disappeared until launch. It very clearly worked because there were no complaints about the game. No question how good it is because the streamers played it. Then it's just a waiting game. BG3 not quite the same but putting the game into people's hands meant that people knew it was solid, before launch. Access creates buzz, especially if a game is enjoyable. It's the through line between all the success stories. Let people play good game, then other people want to play the good game.

  • There's a sidequest in Like A Dragon Gaiden that literally mocks the danger of using AI to do this. I don't know your position but I'm sure your friends aren't gonna mind if you just send them a sentence response.

I've found in my life the more I think about how I should reply the more likely I am to say something they dislike, I'll overthink and add something that infers I'm not talking about X. And the reply will come back "If you aren't talking about X, why did you bring it up?"

  • The benefit of homebrew. None of these need to be considered an actual restriction by the PC. Where X is the disability

    • Paladin: Oath of Restriction: You lose X in favour of your patrons
    • Warlock: Any pact: Patron takes X and wishes to see how you fair in life
    • Sorcerer: Any: Born with X but also born with innate magic powers

All of these have a reason to have a special Counter Remove Curse item.

A more general idea, cursed heart causes X but if curse is removed host dies.

I guess a fucker could still steal the homebrew item but if you're doing that much to negate it that's a player problem. No reason an enemy would attempt to remove a PC curse unless the knew the affects of the last one.

The other obvious choice is to play it like real life and refuse the help because its part of your identity

  • There's been some social discrimination occurring around people who don't have blue messages being excluded, or being seen as poor. Not a great use base but the fact I am even aware of blue Vs green messages means some people do.

  • It helps that they don't have any serious competitions at the moment but it's very naive to think this won't bolster a competitor enough to make some threat. I guess they feel untouchable with even YouTube struggling

  • I've been describing AW2 as my subjective GotY. If you don't like the story telling or if you hate cutscenes in general, it offers very little, otherwise it really is a narrative experience like no other. BG3 is technically a revolution for CRPG but it's easy for me to imagine (and have seen) people get bored or the content

  • I'm surprised how normal this looks. I've been avoiding a lot of AAA games in favour of games that feel more appropriate for handhelds.

I can't imagine wanting to play Elden ring on my steam deck, feels more appropriate to play something like Marvel's Midnight Suns as a maximum fidelity

  • To play devil's advocate you've mentioned 3 remasters. I can see why you'd possibly only want one game on the list depending on your tastes but it's hard to say there's nothing on but at that point it's hard to argue it'd the switches fault and the Switch 2 isn't likely to change your opinion

  • When they get to 5 they will likely remake the lost in nightmares DLC which starts in the mansion. Or it will be done before 5 to reuse in the DLC

At that point it would make financial sense to do it so it's inevitable.

  • Simpler jobs. There's doomerism among the discussion of AI and it seems like there are three camps. People who are scared of AI based on movies. People who have technical knowledge and know machines are still stupid, and people with knowledge who know some fuckwit with too much power is going to give the AI access with too much power. Just don't give them access to nuke codes

  • Same value it's just rather than sneezing part way through your intimidation or halving spinach in your teeth almost 50% of the time you attempt to intimidate, you just have people with mental fortitude not do be intimidated by your given scenario
