  • I agree with universal basic income and also believe it will cause issues. The only way it works is if regulations are put in place to avoid making it useless. The rich can spend large amounts to find loopholes so basically the government will have to provide a bunch of guidelines and when the government steps in people get mad. Even if the pool of money is the same, the pool of money in each market may not be. Stocks and Yachts (extreme example) may go down and investment in rent or cheap food would go up, therefore demand and therefore prices. An alternative would be to make UBI use a separate commodity but it wouldn't really fix the problem as it would likely mean that the commodity could only be spent in select stores and there not provide the freedom it should.

Unfortunately, its a matter of needing real investigation into the market as there's a chance it could drastically backfire.

  • Recently(ish) the necrodancer Zelda game is a weird and wonderful collaboration. Still have no idea how the got the opportunity for that or how much Nintendo was on them for it but I'm sure many Indies would bend over backwards if they could make something with Wario for example.

  • Also refers to classic RPG. Usually specifically refers to isometric 'realtime with pause'/plausible realtime games, with 'complex' dialogue options.

It the same as Metroidvania or Soulslike where it's kind of a vibe with sticky design choice but not 100% clear. I remember seeing arguments about whether Divinity Original Sin 2 was one because it was purely turn based

  • I agree. The key factor is getting this settled before some smart people get this working seemlessly. It's stupid to hear that there wasn't any unionised info decisions for a union though. I guess you ask the union to speak for you but it's the unions job to speak back.

  • They were already way in development by that point. Companies do know live service isn't the bubble they thought it would be but it's either lose all investments or get some return in the hope they hit the mass. Where they really fucked up is with the delay. Looks like nothing has changed as has put them in the fire with the end of fiscal year 2023. It's also coming out same day as Persona 3 Reload which will likely be a heavily praised single player game. At least last April we hadn't hit the maelstrom of "GOTY each week".

  • Boomer became an insult for anyone vaguely older then zoomer. Millennials are also called boomers if they are out of touch as well. Then boomer just meant old. More importantly Boomer ends with er and so is more fun to say as Boomer Shooter over GenX shooter or old shooter of classic shooter.

But this comment has big Boomer energy according to zoomers

  • Reminder of the vocal minority. The number of instances people can say this exact statement to ranges across the world UK with Brexit America with Presidential Election, Russia with the War, China and Japan's financial situations. It's not that people caught on, it's that whoever holds the cards are catching on

  • There's more problems that occur when you talk about American Football as just football solely because people will attempt to follow along before getting blindsided by something that doesn't make sense. At least when Americans talk about Soccer, everyone knows what's going on. Seems like there's often miscommunication that people are getting annoyed Americans refer to Football as soccer and not that your refer to American Football as football. Makes sense when you talk to people in your own country.

This isn't American Centric. Whenever I've talked to people about Gaelic Football, it's discussed as Gaelic football, not football.

  • I don't think it's too controversial to suggest that 5e mechanics are not the strength of BG3. It would be arguably praised more if it kept the world design of BG3 and replaced the combat to have the spell scope of DO2 with the basic actions of 5e (aka shove, which arguably BG3 tweaked anyway to make it fun in combat)

I'll miss the design approach of the game but BG3 was just a big advertisement to how good a D:OS3 will be
