  • Directly or indirectly, the re-election of Trump and his administration's policy , is causing extra rifts worldwide. It's important to counter false claims, disinformation and address the situation.

  • That dude posts so much so frequently, it's extremely fishy.

    Totally, and always the same long not engaging statements. I'd even prefer random adverts at this point, which I normally block.

  • It's a bit premature to announce this, but yes VonderLeyen has announced the preparation of a defense package of approx. 700 B via this legal fiscal venue. Together with the EU Competitiveness Compass plan at around a minimum of 750 B, they will likely be aimed to reinforce each other. In addition, other parallel plans are being prepared, pending current developments.

    added: Context: EU defense is now at 326 B in 2024 (consilium EU). Though Europe also includes UK and other countries ofcourse.

    This newly announced extra package is like a minimum extra budget.

  • The new Axis powers of Russia, China, North Korea and U.S.A against the European powers.

    Considering sherlock holme's famous statement "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth"

    So then, yes; though one can hope.

  • join the EU.

    We'll see how it will go. The EU is made up of onion layers, each more integrated. There should be one which shouldn't take too much time. The current tailored CETA agreement is:

    ● it eliminates duties on 99% of all tariff lines, of which 98% were scrapped when it provisionally entered into force;

    ● it defends the Geographical Indications, and;

    ● it improves and secures companies’ access to the services market.

    And, security wise, we ( EU &Canada) are also NATO allies already. Canada has also a lot of goodwill, specially in Northern Europe

    Edited: sorry first link was EU link, edited to more neutral wiki)

  • Fascism goes all the way back down to Roman times. That's where the word originates anyhow. " Modern" Fascism has a different outward symbolism, fashion style if you will, but the end game is always the same. Bad for normal people, good for elitist. And propaganda is always involved.

  • it being so accepted is a totally different thing.

    Only US citizens should change their President. I hope they succeed to stop his nonsensical violence and or Government.

    Personally, I'm sure that I'm as much accepting of his policies as I am of Orban's, i. e. not acceptable.

  • Hope world mods let me keep this post. It is imo worldnews at this point, unfortunately. We are literally non- stop being bombarded with his shit, every damn day on the other side of the Atlantic ( added: actually, the fallout is worldwide).

  • It's also funny, that you got a complete explanation of how perspective works to your previous question; which was actually like a joke question... Talking about perspective..;) (ed)

  • Why are his hands bigger than his head?

    It's funny. Probably because he's like a muppet show figure IRL too, with big hands, but in a bad way.

  • Aha, so tariffs are straight from " the book".

  • You mean a strike in USA? Midwest ? Maybe put that in the title. A bit confusing for citizens not living there.

    As for methods, copy paste Europe for #how to strike. But your main problem is that you don't have much unions. Have to start somewhere though!

  • Tnx for sharing and telling their story.

  • was obvious for anyone with half a brain that the referendums were sham.

    Yes sure., But I was talking about the Polls, before the referendums, and a recent one since the illegal annexation.

  • I recently saw several reports on the population of Donetsk & Luhansk. Seems that polls were falsified from the start of the invasion there, and also that right now a big majority of citizens (75%) in that region, wish to join Ukraine again. They now dislike their RuZ liberators. Anyone, seen something like this too?

    Edit: This info would probably have impact for the future border RF<> U.A. negotiations. The Krimm shows similar trends, but I imagine most know that already.

  • " Brics" was named by an US Goldman Sachs banker. Idk, if it really amounts to anything, they probably would have changed their given name. Afaik, it has been mainly been an instrument of China to evade dollar transactions in yuan(renminbi), for the The Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. It's almost an acronym.

  • You mean, another day in Europe when we are both continuously threatened by our so-called ally and sabotaged by Russian/Chinese plots . Sure/s.

  • Exactly, it's a win, but probably Vucic just sacrifided those guys.

  • In case you wanna know whom they were trying to kill; it was Armin Papperger, the head of German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall.
