  • MEGA// Make Ellon GO Away.

  • More super debt and an extra 99 year lease on top of the previous? Lol!

    Good idea, right?!/s

That (and corruption) was what got Sri Lanka in even bigger problems.

  • and our entire civilization is structured around the thing causing its own destruction.

    Very well summarised.

Note: The title was just corrected. It's 50% of GDP not growth.

According to this report, 50% fall of WORLD GDP because climatic catastrophes means, no food, water, medicine, infrastructure, help, nothing. Society breaks dow , totally.

And you get famine, thirst, diseases, wars, and many millions or billions deaths.

Important note: it's just a report, an Important one though,if correct. These are (educated) predictions, but nonetheless, just that.

  • I believe I checked it out, before they had the bridge functionality. Seems much better now tbh.

  • I tried Mullvad Vpn and I liked it. Plug and play, 5 € p month, 5? machines, speed ok ( 220 Mbit/s ish on ookla), no other BS. Also you can choose anonymous payments, which is a big plus.

Proton for email wasn't intuitive to me at all , some years back. Don't know about their VPN.

Also, Sweden is in the EU and CH (=Switzerland) has EU association, so kind of copy pasta concerning privacy rules and citizen rights. The former famous old-skool CH privacy is long gone, if that's what you were thinking.

Most (good) VPN have quantum encryption, which Iike many said, is a bit of sales pitch bla bla imo.

  • So not only is USA not a member of the ICC, they want to sanction now professionals working in the ICC for doing their work.

"The U.S. is one of only a handful of states, including Israel, not party to the Rome Statute; the U.S. has long been hostile to the ICC, potentially in part due to some U.S. officials’ implication in alleged war crimes, as some commentators have pointed out."

  • The article and summary very specifically details the role of RE-export. Sanctioned ( Western machine &hightech) parts get to Russia by export via Taiwan, China. It's not like a country like Lithuania is doing this on purpose.

Though there always are some people selling and buying to profit via alternate and creative means. Similar Report by Economic Security Council of Ukraine

  • My guess is the oil

    Exactly.

And probably many other resources, like traderoutes and territories. In the Northpole there is another " cold war" going on as the ice is melting. There are conflicting claims from USA,Canada, Europe, but also from China and Russia.

    From the artic institute( USA):

"In 2009, global interest in the Arctic surged when the US Geological Survey estimated the Arctic held 13 percent of the world’s undiscovered oil and 30 percent of the world’s natural gas. That same year, the US hosted the Arctic Council Ministerial Meeting to reaffirm cooperation.(..)

"Climate change has rapidly transformed the Arctic, making previously inaccessible areas more available for economic and strategic use. The North Sea Route (NSR) and the Northwest Passage (NWP) could become economically viable by 2023"

  • This, and also if we are talking about " Global Silence " concerning (bad) stuff happening in the world, there is so much that doesn't even make the usual headlines.

For example, in Sudan , approximately 23 million children in Sudan are exposed to violence, abuse and exploitation. "

This isn't whataboutism, just that the title is shitty.

  • Quote from this article :

" The Financial Times has obtained access to 29 Russian military secret files from 2013-2014 with lists of targets, particularly nuclear power plants, for a potential war with Japan and South Korea."

I read this article differently; atacks on civilian targets and energy infrastructure, while effective to completely neutralise a country, is without any consideration for the principle of proportionality, according to international humanitarian law, and is primarily a warcrime.

To me, it's an affirmation of the idea that Russian, Chinese, and North-Korean military cooperation has been going on for much longer than some suspected. And, that such states have no regards for civilians lives and have no intentions of upholding international law.

See also Is attacking Ukraine's power grid a war crime?, BBC; " The state has an obligation under international humanitarian law (IHL) to choose a target or a tactic that will cause less damage to civilians. Less death and less injury, but still fulfilling the military advantage," Dr Maria Varaki from King's College War Studies department told the BBC."

  • The Xmas tree probably originates from the Nordic" Tree of life ". I remember reading it was used to celebrate life and the return of light during the dark cold winters in the north

To celebrate and remember the return of the sun in the dark Winter, lights were used to chase away the dark; green as a symbol of returning life, like vegetation and plants, and red probably symbolises fruit and harvest.

There are several versions and interpretations, so it probably depends on the country or region the tree was used, and in which century.

Santa Claus ( yes, created in USA by Coca-Cola), was /is originally Saint Nicolaus, which in turn was probably merged with Wodan This is the same God as in Wednes-day ( was originally Wodan's day, a Nordic God; just like Thursday, was originally Thor's day ).

Many old Germanic/Nordic religions ( they were very similar) were integrated with Christian symbolism and rituals by the Roman Catholic Church.

Check this link for more general info.

Also because of the ancient Dark versus Light theme, there is definitely an association with the Wild Hunt

In the Norse myths, the original leader of the hunt was the god Odin, known in Germanic myth as Wodan. Odin rode his eight-legged horse, called Sleipnir. His company of hunters were the Valkyries and the dead warriors who resided with him in Valhalla.

The gifts placed in the Christmas trees have also an association as an offering / gift " to forefathers who fell as warriors, and or offering to "the wild hunt" and it's phantoms, as a sort of guarantee you wouldn't invoke their wrath and be taken by them to the phantom realm.

Saint Nicolaus in it's older manifestation had a stronger dark and light side. His demons where probably black or dark, like we see in Austria, Kruppe and Black Pete in the Netherlands/ Flanders region.

  • Brazilian law is key?!

"BYD said it “does not tolerate disrespect for Brazilian law and human dignity” and that it had immediately terminated the contract with Jinjiang for part of the work at the factory and was considering “other appropriate measures”.

Add: found this 2023 article, concerning Jinshan Construction in Serbia.

Probably same company using different Sino- Romanized name.

  • He is an efficient expert.. in demolition. We should make a top 10 list. Including Putin, Bashar-Al-Assad, Musk and others.

Edi: sorry, just realised that Putin and Al-Assad fall in another special category.
