And I'm still running into people everyday that says the U.S.A. is th greatest country in the world by a longshot, they think im crazy that I think they're crazy.

and not me getting nervous that DEI is still an important part of our curriculum where I work (A school) and wonder if some trump gestopo is gonna come knocking.

Lol, it doesn't sound great but its a child development club based around the child development lab on campus, we are all grandparents at heart I guess.

The stuff on yahoo, seems like ai slop, it keeps repeating the same thing, maybe that's how the yahoo aggregate works idk, im not familiar with it. I was not attacking the Washington post op, I said whats linked, the yahoo thing feels like what id expect from an ai generated article and the Washington post opinion piece didn't seem to read so much about "gays in concentration camp" but that trump seems to (which I agree with) want to change army culture to a more "Masculine strength" (Like China, russia and NK) where its not about the effectiveness or such of the military but the "strength" of its individual soldiers.

It seems more pointed to trump trying to make his own dictator army, like stalin, or hitler, with the emphasis people seemed to give on the image, I expected more commentary on "how the army should be used to control undesirables" or something, which Im sure trump wants,

but what I read was about trump trying to copy the ultra masculine face of armies in NK or Russia but instead of any discussion or that, everyone it talking about the image, like trump was smart enough to be liking this for the image and not him agreeing "Ya ya, I want army to be stronk"

LMAO, but this sound so good. At a college club meeting we heard about an event that's supposed to run until 10pm and everyone whinged, we're in our early 20's here, we dont want to be staying out that late.

and really, people think trump is smart enough to use critical thinking and inference to read between the lines and make a conclusion that isn't spoon fed to him?

The original article read more to say trump was trying to make a dictator machine, like russia, NKz or china, not concentration camps,

of course trump would still support and share it if it was.

Im not saying he's agianst putting us in concentration camps, he already has stsrted, im saying this was not our red flag

I don't know anyone at my work who might recognize that symbol. It looks like an article saying trump want a an army like russia, a toxicly masculine dictator machine. This doesn't make me think less of trump, 8 years ago when he talked about bombing innocents, I knew he was scum and maybe he crazy. Agian I'm not defending his character, but the yahoo article reeks of ai slop and it just feels like its made to hate for hate sake.

Yeah, society has fallen everyone is out to hate, no one cares to think and form structured opinion, just spouting hateful rhetoric, and yes I know one side is trying to kill innocents while the other is trying to kill the people vying for thier death.

Agian my comment wasn't saying trump wasn't a nazi, just in this one case he, and the author, seemed to not know the meaning of the symbol. but trump would love a toxicly macho army to oppress gays, so he when/if he finds out he wouldn't care.

Yes, a military formed on that sort of ethos can be persumed to work agianst anyone not vehemently masculine, physically and mentally,

Good teachers get weeded out. It drains the life out of you, seeing kids hurt and knowing how they need helped and what they are being set up for but you are not equipped to help them and advice falls on deaf ears, uncaring administration or parents. I see lots of people training to become and alot of new educators, but as you said the powers that be, care about test results and image not staff or child well being. Teacher aren't given the tools and liberty to help students, they are just expected to make sure they dont hurt themselves too much and get good test scores. It hurts educators to see kids get hurt and be set up for failure ane be told that's just what we do.

The educators that stick around either dgaf, are too burnt out and too desperate or still have thier optimism, but that seems to tend to run out eventually, or some found the unicorn, as we are told "find a school where you like the curriculum", fingers crossed I find such a mythical land.

Glad it was blocked, a shame it was also facing cuts. Good teachers are becoming rarer and rarer, hardly anyone seems to care for children to learn. No respect for good teachers or good curriculum. Teachers are still underpaid, under appreciated, and under equipped. Parents and politicians increasely dont want effective educators, they want cheap babysitters, how better would our society be if people were taught effectively.

I don't think an invasion could realistically happen. 1. Need congress to authorize a war that would impact U.S. soil and 2. need the military which isn't under trumps thumb

But making sure they have another deal is smart, probably delay the f-35, and get maybe the euro fighter or so. Solid planes and itd be horrible for U.S. to lose a military contract in NA to an EU. Get the military industrial conplex pissed at trump.

There is an ICE facility in California thats thrived by bribing local officials and has been known to detain people that are not carrying I.D., with agents believed to be going around the local neighborhoods harassing people.

It's not been about illegal immigration or violations of visas, ICE is corrupt and conducts itself in horrendous, morally heinous ways, to innocents and guilty alike.

Each person has thier own opinion. I have used IE, edge, before it went chromium and have used chrome. They work, and if you get into the ecosystem they work really well, but if you don't want to be in the ecosystem or try to stop some it, I ran into problems.

When I just accepted all google ecosystem products, chrome worked great, when I needed to use alternate google accounts for school I ran into issues. So I moved to edge and it worked fine, except for with google I ran into issues, then it became chromium.

Then ads, and popups being an ad company, google doesn't like supporting ad or content blockers, which makes sense but ublock has been so great at blocking unwanted popups and ads and as far as I am aware it doesn't wirk as well on chromium based browsers, or at all.

So agian Chromium is a solid system and if you don't care to change it it can work grest for you, but I found trying to change it to suit my needs as been problematic, in ways firefox or some fork of it hasn't been.

If you are happy with Chrome or Edge or whatnot, great, there isn't a problem but I want other options, I want more options about how it works, how it runs on my system and what data it collects or shows, things chromium doesn't support.

Ive seen a few foss options but they generally lack certain features alot of people have gotten used to either because they cant implement them or it was committed for privacy/resource reasons.

So it becomes a balance of features vs privacy and right now fire fox has been a good enough balance there hasn't been enough backing for a "good" feature rich foss that less computer adept users can easily install and migrate to.

I see it said agian and agian. because its true. Firefox is one of, if not the best of the mainstream browsers. (Not included its many forks) but Mozilla is a horrible caretaker of it. Mozilla does not focus on firefox and they dont care/believe in it nearly as much as its users or devs who fork it.

The motivations of a company are extremely important, and has Mozilla does not care for a lightweight, good, privacy centric browser, the enshitification will and has corrupt firefox.

It's only a matter of time until it is as bad as chromium or flat out joins it.
