  • The whole taking people to a foreign island having them rot in a prison "awaiting" "trial", made our founding fathers quite mad and so they put some little things in our constitution. If there is one thing the founding fathers would still agree on, its that everyone everyone get a fair trial in a timely fashion. If there isn't enough money, cut some of the corporate kickbacks or maybe try actually collecting taxes from the rich.

  • yeah, when i'm working I end up leaving everything but my watch in my lunch pail. Half because it can be uncomfortable squatting with it and half I dont want them broken/flung or what not out.

I lept my wallet once while working....never agian. A Kid kept tapping my wallet in my pocket, repeating "Whats in your pants teacher" over and over. I was busy with other children and so had to live with that for like 30 srconds.

  • This is why more and more people I know are moving to mens working pants. I can fit my cellphone, sunglasses, earphones, wallet, keys, water bottle, a notepad, pen, pencil, sharpie and meal replacement shake in my pockets (I dont like carrying anything in my hand when walking to work)

  • ...

I don't know "how bad" it is. but

I know a few people who would 100% move into thier car on campus, either because they are in between homes or it's thier biggest liability.

Its not even a Uni, just community.

but even in the sticks, the housing crunch is hitting us.

Homes for sale but priced way out of what anyone can actually afford.

This is horrible its come to these sorts of things, but,

when living out of your car is a reality, honestly moving to make it safer for students is good, I think.

My college has a food bank and free showers/toiletries already.

  • Just when dubs were getting to a point of not being too bad. Subtitles, especially CC have felt especially bad recently. I would rather wait an extra week or two for good sub or dub then have it done poorly or flat out butcherd with A.I..

  • With how many "freedom of access" or whatever they call it trips america does through contested waters double dog daring someone, anyone to shoot them, America would 1000% do this in the space age, just to "assert ~~dominance ~~ freedom" because whats better then wasting time and money and taunting war

  • One of the problems is many of our shipbuilding ports are shuttered, right, it's not as much a matter of competition, but they just dont make ships? Putting fines, not to the registered owner, or port of origin but orgin of manufacture for a ship? Seems an absolute nightmare to implement, without alot of use. Where would the money go? Obviously it wouldn't be used to reopen and run U.S. shipbuilders, so it's just a money grab for trump to embezzle more money or to piss off more people for no good reason.

  • And I'm still running into people everyday that says the U.S.A. is th greatest country in the world by a longshot, they think im crazy that I think they're crazy.

and not me getting nervous that DEI is still an important part of our curriculum where I work (A school) and wonder if some trump gestopo is gonna come knocking.

  • The stuff on yahoo, seems like ai slop, it keeps repeating the same thing, maybe that's how the yahoo aggregate works idk, im not familiar with it. I was not attacking the Washington post op, I said whats linked, the yahoo thing feels like what id expect from an ai generated article and the Washington post opinion piece didn't seem to read so much about "gays in concentration camp" but that trump seems to (which I agree with) want to change army culture to a more "Masculine strength" (Like China, russia and NK) where its not about the effectiveness or such of the military but the "strength" of its individual soldiers.

It seems more pointed to trump trying to make his own dictator army, like stalin, or hitler, with the emphasis people seemed to give on the image, I expected more commentary on "how the army should be used to control undesirables" or something, which Im sure trump wants,

but what I read was about trump trying to copy the ultra masculine face of armies in NK or Russia but instead of any discussion or that, everyone it talking about the image, like trump was smart enough to be liking this for the image and not him agreeing "Ya ya, I want army to be stronk"

  • did you read the ai slop yahoo article or the Washington post op?

The original article read more to say trump was trying to make a dictator machine, like russia, NKz or china, not concentration camps,

of course trump would still support and share it if it was.

Im not saying he's agianst putting us in concentration camps, he already has stsrted, im saying this was not our red flag

  • I don't know anyone at my work who might recognize that symbol. It looks like an article saying trump want a an army like russia, a toxicly masculine dictator machine. This doesn't make me think less of trump, 8 years ago when he talked about bombing innocents, I knew he was scum and maybe he crazy. Agian I'm not defending his character, but the yahoo article reeks of ai slop and it just feels like its made to hate for hate sake.

Yeah, society has fallen everyone is out to hate, no one cares to think and form structured opinion, just spouting hateful rhetoric, and yes I know one side is trying to kill innocents while the other is trying to kill the people vying for thier death.
