It is illegal to have to many people at your own home? That's a new one.

Whatever reigns this shit in. I say this as a liberal stuck in a rural Arizona town who's water is being stolen. About 10 years ago a farm popped up just outside of town and it now consumes most of the valley we live in. This farm pumps 10x the consumption of the entire city with a population of 80,000. Peoples wells are running dry and this dude pays nothing for this water.

This is the desert. Nothing is supposed to grow here. We probably shouldn't even live here.

Fuck these guys, I don't care where they are from. But if it takes xenophobia for the idiots in this state to vote on it, go ahead. If the crops are for local use, well, we did fine before they showed up. We didn't need those farms. So they will go away. If the market for these stupid unethical crops isn't propped up by foreign consumption they wouldn't exist.

I am a paramedic/firefighter. Over the past few years our department has been crazy short handed. A lot of times I am the only paramedic on duty in the entire city (vs EMTs, who are a lower level of care). I essentially was not only allowed to work whenever I could but was sometimes required to. I think I averaged 96~ hours a week last year. I am not stealing from anyone other than time with my children. I am being compensated for my time and service i provide. Public servants are not ALL shitheads, sometimes we are filling vital roles and then get shit on for it. Pay better hourly and you get more employees and don't have to pay people like me time and a half when a pandemic hits. I also work 24 hour shifts, so I would just work for 4 days go home for 3. It's easier for me to hit those hours than someone who works a desk job.

It is Ironic that this dude is a safety monitor though. The main people that shit their pants when you work that many hours is payroll, obviously, and the safety officer.

It's frustrating if the DNC used any common sense they could snuff the Republicans for the next few elections after what just happened with Trump. But instead they just decided to use the opportunity to be slightly less of a bad choice than the Republicans. They have to skate that line, they cant just put in someone who would be actually liked by the people. They have to install someone who plays as far by their rules as they can get and will also keep the election close so we don't swing to far to the left.

Not irrelevant. Remember 2016? The options were even worse and we ended up with the cheeto. Since the DNC decided to stick with the senile sock puppet I would bet money we end up with Pence. And they will keep turning this country into a religious state. The DNC is fine with that too, because at least pence will play by the rules and keep everyone's doners happy. That is the only reason they hated Trump so badly. Had nothing to do with his actions, it was that he said the quiet parts out loud.

We're going to end up with President Pence aren't we? 😔 I hate this country. And the DNC for deciding to stick with a senile sock puppet.

What are the odds............

We would support it. We only have 24 units, we field at least 50 calls a day. We would be fine. We have turned down an offer from the company that owns the other complexes. The offer was 3 times what we paid 10 years ago and had a few more zeros on the end of what we still owe. But these tenants have become family. Also from a business owner perspective I would rather have this steady income than the BS of a quick payday then having to reinvest somewhere else and work are butts off to get that sustainable without turning into a scumbag landlord. Landlording is easy if you charge exorbitant prices and pay people to do everything. We do all the work ourselves to keep the cost down. Meanwhile I work another full time job. So does my wife and we have two kids. I don't have time to get another property to this point of sustainability.

A lot if things have changed since 2001. For example, the legal definition of "trust" when concerning giant corporations.

I run a small senior living complex in a rural town. We have the cheapest rent in town. We scrape by, trying to make improvements here and there. They are maintained though. We seriously charge hundreds of dollars less than the next closest complex in the area. We refused to raise our rent in the past 4 years dispite rising taxes and utility bills. Most our tenants are widows/widowers living off a fixed income. We are either too nice or bad business owners because that "fix my AC" One always stings and reaches into my personal budget. And by "personal budget" I mean I eat ramen for a couple weeks.

Anyway, I actually feel like this meme. Other than my tenants are usually happy. Occasionally we get someone who is just never happy no matter what you do. I know all the other complexes are owned by one company essentially creating a monopoly and they have exploited this town. We get calls from people crying because they will be homeless.
