Pretty sure people though that in the 1910s, then again in the 1940s, then a few times in the 70s/80s, and now seems like a persistent feeling over the last 10-20 years or so.
Eventually we'll be right, but humans as a group seem to have incredibly bleak outlooks.
To me (anecdotally at least) it seems like the majority of the views reaction videos get are from existing fans of the content. I'm sure a portion won't be but for me I quote enjoy watching someone discover and enjoy the things I enjoy, it's a lesser version of watching your friend listen to the song you recommended and enjoying it.
I've watched a few "hip hop artist reacts to rock music" type channels over the years and it's mainly because I enjoy seeing someone be surprised by the things that surprised or excited me as a kid.
I've got no issue with react content myself, even if it doesnt take much skill to create. Shit TV and film has existed as long as TV and film and it's always had a place, is anyone surprised youtube has oodles of it too?
Has anyone ever really believed that? It became very apparent very quickly that their MO was getting customers to buy only Apple products and then to replace them as often as they could get away with.
By not active I mean not posting, the original mod handed it over to someone else who posted that day that they would appoint a few mods to help manage it and that was their last comment in lemmy. I've asked for an update but seems like they've stopped using the site.
The community itself is still manageable to be fair, I'd just like to ensure there are some mods to keep things going. Might make no difference at all to the content, but as the only one has gone awol I thought it'd be good to have some active posters take the mantle instead.
Yeah I don't mean survivable. I was thinking about the implication from the comment that sugar is this horrific substance which is prone to abuse and should be avoided at all costs.
If the point is for refined sugar then I'm with them. If they're talking about sugar as a whole though, then it would be unhealthy to go for a week without any.
Cats didn't domesticate themselves by being fed directly by humans. But humans still brought the food because humans bring rats and mice with them, cats stuck around for the greater volume of prey.
Not normin but I've never had a problem either. Here's the screen I get when I open a playlist, can toggle between shuffle, smart shuffle and normal to the left of the play button.
I've seen this mentioned a few times but in the UK we must have a different formula or something because I don't think I've ever failed to get the wrapper off cleanly when I've had them.
