I've acquired this recently and it's made work a lot easier to deal with.
I've realised nobody ever gets fired in the company I work in (and I would 100% take the severance package if offered redundancy). I've spent 8 years being a team player, giving extra hours for nothing, and becoming one of the most knowledgeable people in the world for our system, only to be given a middle finger of a raise after a 6month fight (in which I was told almost immediately they'd take care of me and I'd be happy with it.
Well. Fuck them and their 7.5%.
Ill take the minimal amount of extra cash but as far as I'm concerned that's SOME of my back pay for the efforts over the last 8 years. I am putting 10% effort into my job and 90% into finding a new one now (which will come with another 5% for a sideways move anyway).
A few years ago I wouldn't be able to stop myself trying to please everyone even after all that, it's so refreshing being able to turn off that switch which says I should care about my job. All it took was nearly a decade of mistreatment before realising they didn't give a shit about me....
Even if we get nothing else from those last seasons, at the very least it'll serve as a warning to show runners in future. You can be responsible for one of the biggest and best shows ever but if you don't stick the landing people will never forgive you.
I wonder how they feel about it now, what a waste of an opportunity.
You can see this in the example above but perhaps it's better to use different powers to make things a bit clearer.
2^5=2x2x2x2x2
2^3=2x2x2
(25)/(23)=(2x2x2x2x2)/(2x2x2)
You can cancel 3 of the 2s from the top and bottom of the fraction to be left with 2x2, or 2^2.
I.e. (25)/(23)=2^2
The quicker way to calculate this is doing 2(5-3) which when you resolve the bracket is obviously just 22 or 2x2.
If both numbers in the bracket are the same the bracket will always resolve to 0, which is the same as saying a number divided by itself, any number divided by itself is one so it follows that any number to the power 0 is also 1 (because it's essentially exactly the same calculation).
He sounds like a treasure, hold tight and (at the risk of sounding patronising as balls) try and pick up the DM mantle occasionally if his life gets a bit busy.
I love it when you actually remember the ability that saves you in the moment rather than 5 rounds later. But if you were left with 1hp then surely you'd only have been unconscious from the attack anyway?
You're absolutely right! You then interpreted a response which agreed with you as a problem though, and everything that followed made you look a right tool.
Someone was literally just pointing out that the stigmatisation is ironic given the same logic used in the idiom could be applied to many industries. They acknowledged that it wasn't, and that the stigma was associated specifically to sex workers, but basically were just having a chuckle that the logic used to denigrate a whole industry could be just as easily applied to lots of "respected" career paths too.
I may be wrong but didn't Sony consistently win the console sales battles largely because they had better exclusives?
I don't agree with this purchase, but it's seems like they're trying to get to a similar status as playstation in terms of game exclusivity.
