Yeah but slightly different if you use a dedicated toastie maker which are pretty common, it seals the bread around the edge and gives you a perfect pocket of cheese.
It's weird from an adult's perspective but it's magical for a kid, and seeing the excitement build and the idea of actual magic contributing to a really family centric event is like proper magic for a parent too.
I spent a long time growing up thinking that I would never do that to my kids, but I think it's actually crueler not to do it now. You're taking away an experience most children share and get excited by together for no real reason.
My children are 3.5 and 9months and I haven't decided when I'd let the older one know but it's certainly a few years away at least. I'm hoping that one day she comes and asks me herself how real it is because she's pieced together how impossible some aspects are, but I really have no idea how naively optimistic I'm being. I guess what's more likely is she comes home from school upset one day because another kid told her, and then I'll have to explain it and get her on board to keep the magic alive for her little brother.
The best quality IS the quality the filmmaker wanted when it was created.
People buy CRT TVs even now btw, the absence of input lag makes it ideal for competitive smash bros.
Most people are perfectly happy watching an old film/show on a new screen because it can near as dammit replicate exactly what the director wanted us to see. Adding actual stuff to the framing of shots is a nuts idea and it absolutely changes the quality.
To give an example, having someone's face fill the screen versus being centred with more background visible around it changes the feel of the shot a LOT. 12 angry men is a good example here because the camera gets almost imperceptibly closer to the person speaking throughout the film to ramp up tension and draw the viewer into the story. It creates a feeling of claustrophobia that would be dulled if you added content to the edges of the screen.
Not sure I agree there, the term win/win suggests they've listed both possibilities and both are a win. It implies a no lose scenario and therefore that all options have been presented.
Buying a lottery ticket I could win £10 or I could win £10 million, it's win/win!
Hating Bethesda is cool at the moment so people only discuss the negatives of starfield and not the positives.
Having said that I'm only 8hrs in so my opinion isn't worth shit really. But I'm enjoying it so far having met constellation and then just fucked off on my own for a bit to explore
Generation means something very specific when you're talking about the last generation of humans, being alive doesn't make you the same generation as everyone else currently living.
Your grandparents by definition are 2 generations older than you are. That's how they became grandparents.
Racers and shooters in particular are harder to enjoy as you get older. Reaction time tends to be very important with those and once you're 25 or so you're only gonna see that get worse really.
My pc has lasted 14 years (and I expect another 40) and been capable of playing every game in that time because I've been able to upgrade it without dropping thousands at once.
Apple products are good for sure, but they don't let the consumer choose very much. Sometimes that's good (I always advocated apple products for my grandparents) but more often than not it's just annoying.
I buy a new android phone every 3ish years and give my old one to my mum, she's never had one break yet so all mine have had at least 5-6 years life before she upgrades to my latest old one (and possibly it still has years left). I don't buy the idea that Apple phones last longer than Android at all.
What upgrades? Not doubting you, just curious what you've been able to do.
That was kinda the point I was making because apple don't really let you upgrade hardware so if you want an improved computer better go spend a couple grand on our shiny new one with a 0.2mm thinner screen!
They definitely make good products, and I advised my grandparents to stick to apple because it's more intuitive for a non techy person, and because they're all identical and customer support would be easier to deal with.
Phones matter a bit less I suppose because we're not all upgrading hardware in android phones, they did recently lose a court case for deliberately throttling speeds on old devices though didn't they?
