The economy is traditionally measured by GDP growth, unemployment, and inflation. All those numbers were good when Harris was running.

If you want to redefine "good economy", that's on you.

Democrats won in 1992, 1996, 2008, 2012, and 2020 without resorting to open fascism. That's five of the last nine elections, which is roughly what you'd expect in a two party system.

What is clear is that Democrats need to win them back. Democrats don't seem to think leftism will win them back, and I agree.

The OP is not about me.

If mass movements can win a general election then they can win a primary.

Conversely, if leftists aren't yet winning primaries with mass movements, then they can't yet win general elections.

So lying to the working class is your winning strategy.

Democrats definitely don't want a stateless society. So they definitely should not listen to leftists.

The good news is that laws have changed. Candidates today can win primaries simply by getting the most votes, without need of smoke filled rooms.

The bad news is that leftists are still incapable of winning primaries.

By centrist, I'm specifically referring to Latinos and Gen Z males. They were Biden voters in 2020 and shifted to Trump in 2024. Democrats need to win those groups back. And they don't seem to care much about class war.

Ok, so if leftists can't win a primary because they have no support from donors and media, then how are they supposed to win a general election?

If everyone obeys the law, then a primary is not "corrupt". It is a test of how many votes you can get when your opponent is using every possible legal mechanism to obtain an "unfair" advantage.

And that's exactly the same thing that will happen in the general. So if a candidate doesn't know how to win an "unfair" primary then they are destined to lose in the general. They are not a good candidate, and they should be eliminated as soon as possible.

Politics isn't fair.

But nevertheless, if you can submit your signatures on time, then you can be in the primary. And if you get the most votes, then you will win the primary.

If you can't accomplish those two basic tasks, then you are not a good candidate. Even if you think it's "unfair". Step aside so someone better than you can do the job.

Centrists need to get more votes than their opponent. Just like everyone else.

If a candidate can't do that, they are not a good candidate. Their excuses are irrelevant.

They need to understand why. But the solution is probably not "be less centrist".

Centrists. The ones who decided this election. And also decided the 2020 election.
