  • It's cute how you think that the only government that's using our own data against us is china. Might want to step back and look at our own government, then apply your same line of thinking to all big tech companies in existence right now.

  • I guess a compliment. Sorry, this last year or so has made me very skeptical of anything I see online that seems a little spontaneous. So many companies trying to act like bros and just find something amazing they have to tell us about. Unfortunately it's clouding up the posts where people actually do find something amazing. I like this, and would actually look into it if it had better comments on the U.S. coverage or bands. Still not sure how I would do with the keyboard, but I do like the small form factor. Apologies again if you are a real person. In the meantime I am going to need you to click on every picture that contains a gopher. :)

  • You can also use regex expressions. In our work env, we have specific id's that are allowed to run certain commands. And only certain people have the ability to "sudo su - [authorized id]". Then when you are using that id, you have commands you can run specific to the job. Also worth noting, those id's are set to not allow login. You have to sudo to be able to get to the id.

  • Most of this would probably be handled by the regular unix permissions and things like sudo access for commands that are needed. You can specify exactly what commands people can run using sudo. You can also make groups so that you can have people that can run certain commands in those groups. As far as default permissions to run files, that would be handled by your path and execute permissions. Same with umask settings. I worked at a large company and to my delight and a lot of windows users dismay, they forced us to have linux laptops for our particular jobs. I loved it, but a lot of people just weren't happy. I found that I could do everything much easier when I had native tools for working with other unix based machines right there on my desktop.

  • I had played a ton of arcade games, atari 2600, atari 800, intellivision, og nintendo games but it was San Francisco Rush on the N64 where I had to stop playing because my eyes hurt. I realized I hadn't blinked in an hour or so, I was that immersed in the experience. It was absolutely mind boggling to me at the time.

  • That is some seriously scary shit, and people seem to be just fine with ignoring that it is happening. I feel like I am perceived as the crazy guy for pointing it out to people. It is crazy how the majority of people just don't give a shit about their own privacy, until it's too late.

  • And outlook, totally agree. How about this one? I have a right hand view with my calendar. Sometimes it goes away just when I minimize outlook. I have it specifically set, and wtf outlook, did you just forget it was there? I have to go back in and reset it. Sometimes when I bring outlook back up, the text is super tiny like it's some microscopic font. I have to close and reopen just for it to go back to normal. What else, how about the time on older messages? It just shows the date in the message, and it's almost impossible to just see the time of the email, which is vital information. Or how about the fact that outlook is basically spying on me, and they aren't even sneaky about it since it sends me an email with their findings on my "behavior". I don't need you to tell me how much I worked, or when I have free time. I fucking know... And here's my number one peeve about microsoft... let me start a fucking sentence with a lowercase letter!!! Why does every fucking microsoft product think that it needs to autocorrect me when I am intentionally trying to do something. I try and list commands that are case sensitive in a document or email, and it erroneously fucking capitalizes them. EVERY FUCKING TIME...

  • Lets just put it this way, the new teams has been a gigantic pain in the ass. Par for the course I guess. I have a list of things microsoft that are just frustrating and even moreso because our team that deals with these things just stand there like they are waiting for a bus. For instance, I had onedrive showing a message for over a year and a half that it was "processing 6 files" and the activity thing would just spin. It wouldn't even say what the 6 files were. The IT support team tried the usual microsoft dance. Stop it and restart it. If that doesn't work, reboot the machine. If that doesn't work then uninstall and re-install. Then if that doesn't work shrug your shoulders and say "don't know...". It was finally solved when I got a new laptop. I the year or so it was happening, I asked if they could look at log files, and you would have thought I was describing a new alien species to them. Fuck microsoft and their proprietary bullshit they have hawked on everyone. And shame on managers for buying into this shit ecosystem.

  • Mid 80's Bronco. My ex insisted that she had to have a bronco. It had a 302 in it, but holy hell. I am sure it was the fact that they were still trying out emissions schemes but I bet it had less than a hundred hp. It would barely move out of it's own way, and if you got about 6mpg you considered yourself lucky. Toss in an oil leak and it was like driving the Exxon Valdez. I can't decide if the best day of my life was getting rid of the bronco, or her....

    Narrator: Both....
