  • Saving a click for those curious, and not wanting to be bombarded with ads. FTA:

Last week in New York City, actor Steve Buscemi, a native New Yorker celebrated for his roles in “Boardwalk Empire,” “Fargo,” and “Reservoir Dogs,” was the victim of a senseless assault, as confirmed by his publicist.

This incident unfolded in the bustling neighborhood of Kips Bay on May 8th, around midday. Despite initial reports not mentioning Buscemi by name, the New York Police Department swiftly responded to a distress call reporting the assault. Details emerged that Buscemi, aged 66, had been punched in the face by an unidentified assailant in front of 369 3rd Avenue.

The aftermath of the assault saw Buscemi being rushed to Bellevue Hospital to receive treatment for injuries to his left eye, which included bruising, swelling, and bleeding. While Buscemi is physically on the mend, his publicist conveyed his appreciation for the outpouring of well wishes from fans and the public.

  • Very interesting. But the cynic in me says that even if we could tear it down and learn from it, we would manage to negate the savings with other costs. If they are making a profit, even if it's tiny, that would still negate the tin foil hat people from being able to say they are just using them in infiltrate our nation with their spying and devious ways. Well one would think, but tin foil hat people will find a way to work around that, because what's the best way to hide that you are infiltrating our nation then making it look like you are making a tiny profit. (Taps forehead..)

  • Don't forget our big three are just chomping at the bit to get in on the subscription model. Oh, you want 'good' brakes, well that's $19.99/month. And there's no 'secrets' to the chinese cars, I am willing to bet that they are just selling them at a loss. It's not like they have to report real earnings to anyone.

  • And the meal is smaller than ever. I went to McDonalds the other day and got a fish fillet sandwich. It was comically smaller than the last time I bought one. I guess the next time I buy one (assuming that ever happens) it will be on the atomic scale.

  • I only have experience with Bitbucket, and absolutely none if this may be applicable to you, but we have to generate a key with certain parameters (a minimum) for them to work, and the public key has to be input into a field on your account. So while you do not need to "provide" a username to perform git commands, it is set up in your account as your private key. The command to gen the key is: ssh-keygen -t rsa -m PEM -b 4096 -C "your.email@domain.com"

Once you put your public key into your bitbucket account, using that key will mark all changes you make to you. Is this what you are talking about or am I just off in left field?

  • Son, is that you? I had a linux machine setup for my kids with a reverse proxy. I let them have a handful of websites that were whitelisted and they could go directly to. Everything else was off limits unless I ok'ed it and added it to the list. It still boggles my mind at the scoffs I would receive from other parents, and even my spouse at the time.

  • I have a friend who's mom passed away last year. He is still working through her taxes, but he had to deal with the IRS going back to a 2020 settlement his mom had with the IRS about her 401k for that year. Long story short, he had to pay $27 to settle up with them, which was interest that they forgot to calculate. At today's pay rates I think I can unequivocally say that someone at the IRS spent more than $27 worth of time to collect this on a 4 year old transaction with a now deceased person, but like you said, with no questions asked or accountability required we just toss billions of dollars over to another country. Yet we are literally harassing our own populace for their dead relatives $27...

  • I suggested once, that in order to downvote, we add a little effort into the process (same could be done for upvoting in my opinion so it doesn't come across as unbalancing things) like making people type in a description of why, or even do like a captcha for the downvote to register. You would have thought I suggested personally beating their grandmother with a lead pipe.

I know people got superheated with my idea, but in my opinion this can be a mental health issue for some and it's worth discussing, not just crapping on. It just seems way too easy to do a driveby downvote brigade. If something is truly that bad, then people shouldn't be too troubled by putting in just a little bit of extra effort to downvote it, and the truly bad posts will still get what they deserve if that's what people think they are doing with this.

  • Fantasy Grounds has a 30 day no questions asked guarantee. If you don't like it they will refund your money. Their license goes on sale quite a bit so you might be able to get it at a pretty good discount depending on the timeframe.

  • Where did I say I had a problem with this? So much knee jerking in here. I am stating that lawmakers should apply these same laws to our own social media. The same lawmakers who will most likely profit off this decision.
