  • It was only one for me, Baldur's Gate 3.

So yeah, very much a matter of opinion.

  • I don't think we should underestimate the savvy programmers out there, who are just as fed up with ads as the rest of us.

And at this point, most of the cousins who don't know how to update their adblocker are already there. It's a matter of time. YT won't keep pouring money into this. Just long enough to the "balance the books." When the 'number of viewed ads' start slowing down again and they've hit their max viewership, they'll call off the hounds.

  • The question is 'Do they want to keep throwing money at techs in the hope of forcing people to watch their ads?'

At best, people will keep finding ways to get around the ads and YT will have wasted a ton of money on nothing.

At worst, a bunch of people will abandon YT all together. And YT will have wasted a ton of money getting rid of them.

Both options seem self-defeating and wasteful.

  • Best of luck to ya

  • I think a "Top Mods" search should cover you fairly well.

    https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/top/

You want the Scrips Extender first and foremost. Most mods depend on it.

The 4GB Patcher is also a must, if I remember correctly

After that Yukichigai Unofficial Patch - YUP should cover most of the bugs. (I can't remember exactly how much it covers, just that it's was an essential mod back when I was screwing around with it)

Other than that it's a bit of trial and error. If a problem pops up or if one persists, look around for more specific patches.

  • If you never finished it, I'd recommend just sticking with Bug Fixers and Stability Mods.

The game holds it's own without changes.

I'd even hold off on graphical mods as there's little that can be done to improve the visuals without complete texture overhauls. And they tend to just make the contrasts more apparent and can cause even more instability to an already extremely unstable game.

  • I guess it depends on the scope of the modding you're thinking of doing. And simple personal preference of UI and such.

Personally, I'm a basic bitch. So Vortex works fine for me, as did NMM.

You should probably just give them a try and see how they feel to you. They are still free to download as far as I know.

  • Quite a few times.

BG3 already payed itself off in the first couple of weeks. Subnautica is another. And although I loathe to admit it, I do have about 2000 hours in Dead By Daylight.

Hell, I've bought and re-bought the original two Fallout games several times back in the 90's as I wore out the CD's over the years. And there plenty of games in between them and the newest that were absolutely worth it. Some aren't even playable anymore.

And since I got into the Indie scene the numbers went up.

So yeah, quite a few games all in all.

  • I absolutely agree with you. And I did play it back when it came out.

There's a few more things that goes in the "Meh"-pile of changes Oblivion brought to the table. Like the boundless fast-travel system and streamlining magic (although I did like the quick-cast mechanic. But that got scrapped as fast as it was implemented with Skyrim) and so on.

  • Witcher 3 is a CDProjectRed game.

I don't think Beth' is capable of making a game even close to The Witcher 3. XD

  • For me, the "NASA punk" wasn't the turn off.

Starfield could have been a great game. But the general route Beth has taken with Fallout, and continued in Starfield, doesn't appeal to me. Pointless building filler, environmental storytelling over actual storytelling, radient quests everywhere and so on.

I have no doubt they'll do the same with TES. Just half-assing it really. Skyrim was already pretty flat, so...

  • Oblivion is the weird transition point, ngl.

  • It's all a matter of personal taste. But yeah, Beth's best games are definitely in the past.

  • Sounds more like maybe you just aren't that interested in all the environment stuff.

  • Nice one. You really got me with that, my enlightened friend.

I shall seek to change my ways with outmost urgency.

  • Probably not. And that's an issue in and of itself.

  • Hyperbole isn't joking. It's exaggeration.

  • Nah, it's just media doing what media does.

Celebrities generate more clicks. That's all.

I have no doubt Greta thinks she's helping by continuously trying to martyr herself.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about going as green as possible. I just don't see her shenanigans as helpful.

  • I know it's not.

But when Greta shows up, it's all about her and not the protest anymore.
