3d printing.

Started out with a cheap printer, mostly to supply my friends with miniatures and terrain. They loved the stuff I printed for them, so gave me money for my effort, which went into upgrading my printer and buying more supplies and buying a new printer so I could print better, bigger things for them.

Then, so enamored by what 3d printing could do, they bought their own 3d printers.

and now no one talks to me cause I no longer have any use and i'm stuck with a printer I havent even removed from the box and assembled for 3 years, and another printer that only stays around because every 2-3 months something comes up where I can design and print a part to fix something around the house.

Probably a The Producers scenario where they expected to make money off its failure, and then it was successful and cost them more than they wanted since they betted against it.

Only reason I can think of. Only reason that makes any logical sense.

You do realize there are a LOT Wifi standards, right?

I mean, compared to WiFi, its genuinely amazing there are only two standards for electric car chargers. and the only reason 2 exists is because Tesla didnt want to share.

Blade Runner PC game by westwood was also amazing, but didnt seem to get any traction.

Fucking fantastic game, though. Everyone should play it.. theres an enhanced now, so you don't have to do the weirdo workaround shit with the 16bit installer.

A lot of great shows were ruined because executives saw dollar signs and demanded more seasons, ruining great story telling and pacing.

There was a string of time between 2006 and 2009 where there were AMAZING new long format TV shows coming on... and promptly dying on the vine after a year due to bad advertising or ratings chasing.

Kings was a great TV show that deserved 4 more seasons.

Jericho Was an amazing show, that got dumped by Network after the first season.. and the fans were so infuriated that they crowdsourced funding to send over twenty tons of nuts to CBS in protest, Which forced them to greenlight a second season for like..5 or 6 episodes (first season was 22 episodes, as comparison) and left it hanging on a painfully huge cliffhanger. before cancelling it again.. Netflix even came forward and offered to buy the series and continue it on Netflix (Which all the actors were 100% on board with), and as a final FUCK YOU to the fans, CBS refused. They hated the show, tried to fuck over its second season hard, and hated the fans... and still refused to sell the rights to someone who would let it flourish.

God, typing this out has made me realize how irrationally angry I still am at CBS over the absolute fuckery they pulled with that show that I cant even think of the other shows at the moment.

Go watch Jericho. Its still a fucking awesome show, despite how much the c-suite hated it.

Just remember, this shit started a year or 2 ago with "We must protect the children" (the current attacks, before I get well achkshuallay'd. yes I know this shit inherently goes back to Reagan, and more)

They got their foot in the door getting "controversial" stuff out of elementary schools, and immediately seized on that to get their undesirable content out of middle, and high school, and even colleges and public libraries.

"For the children" has always been, and will always be, nothing more than an authoritarian attempt to push through power grabs and democracy undermining legislation.

Conservative states consume more porn than liberal states, and thats according to a study on paid sites, so I bet the difference in consumption is even higher when you account for free sites.

Theres pretty much just 2 car plugs, though.. Yes some tried to do their own plug, but eventually abandoned it in favor of an open standard that everyone uses.. and then theres tesla, who keeps promising to open its super charger network and provide adapters/new plugs for the open standard.

its not like the late 90s of cellphones where everyone used proprietary voltages and connectors because fuck you thats why.

So I just got home and I did not prepare a dissertation on the subject, so I'm just gonna tell you the two issues I remember clearly off the top of my head.

1. they had a program that would sick lawyers on anyone that streamed/lets play'd Nintendo games, unless they signed a very invasive contract with nintendo that gave nintendo something like half their profits.
2. they are so grossly incompetent that when Tears of the Kingdom had its street date broken early, they sent their lawyers out to abuse DMCA to shut down any discussion or screenshots of the game, up to and including DMCA'ing their own twitter account promoting the game.. Which is stupid because the coverage was better than any coverage money could buy, and buy going full draconian on it they just looked ike out of touch assholes.

Theres plenty of other controversial and stupid bullshit from nintendo, both big and small.. and it just, to me, shows a disdain for the customer thats willingly giving them their hard earned money.

Still, Wouldnt be the first time that an abusive person put on the good doting grandparent act, until the parents backs were turned. Make sure you talk to your kids and have an air of openness and honesty with them so they'll tell you, truthfully, if grandma is back to her old tricks.

Handwashing doesnt fully clean a wood cutting board after meat. After you hand wash it you gotta spray it down with a sanitizing agent like dilute bleach solution or a vinegar solution, let it sit for several minutes, and then wash it off.

Compare that with petroleum products, one can fill a tank anywhere and it works the same, as it should do.

Unless you put gas in your diesel, or diesel in your gas vehicle.

Everyone should, imho, have a plastic and a wooden cutting board.

Wood for non meats (basically plant stuff and breads), plastic for meats.

Plastic for meats because, like wood, it doesnt murder the knife edge, and can be put n the dish washer to be sanitized, and is cheap enough to throw away after it gets beaten up to the point that you cant clean all the nooks, crannies and gouges anymore.

You can cut meat on wood boards, but its much more difficult to clean them afterwards since you cant throw them in a dishwasher.

But, if you insist on a wood board, bamboo is a good choice since its more resistant than typical wood cutting boards.

Wasnt there a class action lawsuit about that?

Probably piddly payouts per customer.
