  • For the price of two big studio games, you can buy yourself a pair of running shoes, DND dice, a few books, watercolor and paper, and have some money leftover. It's not that you can't afford it, it's that the way capitalism is designed makes you too exhausted to have a hobby.

  • Today I decided to start the day with a swim. I arrived at the pool at 11am. I just don't get how people do it. Also, if I do any sort of physical activity without having had a full meal that day, I can literally feel myself run out of energy within minutes.

  • Listening to what their interests are is a good way to connect with much younger (or much older!) people. I'll happily listen to a kid explain Fortnite to me, or my to grandpa talk about his favourite TV show. I'll ask them some questions about it and get a conversation going.

  • Primary school age children are horrible at guessing age. One time when I was 16 a group of 6 year olds estimated I was 40. And I don't look old, a few weeks ago, I got carded buying beer, which is 16+. I'm 27.

  • True, I'm one of them. Wouldn't really say I'm in poverty, but I certainly couldn't afford a car. But that's not relevant, since nobody questioned that. You did, however, question why one would make a 4 min drive, so I gave reasons why someone might.

  • I fucking love alarm clocks. Why? My phone used to be the very first and the very last thing I touch every day. As soon as I unlock my phone, it becomes hard to not get distracted and do other stuff on it. Now, I can have phoneless mornings and evenings.

  • Some parts of the world are so heavily built for cars that they are hostile and dangerous to walkers and bikers, and also have little to no public transport. Also, some people are disabled.

  • The coins themselves carry no value and is backed by jack-shit. Comparing them to baseball cards seems very apt. Baseball cards, bubbles and FOMO.

This is true of every currency. Even precious metals are only precious because we think they are.

Not arguing pro crypto here, more like, anti capitalism, with crypto only being the next generation of a thing that only has a value because some ppl have decided that it does.
