  • If it makes you feel any better, we have a joke in Austria that we might as well not have an army, because we border 1) NATO, 2) Switzerland, and if either of those become a threat, we might as well capitulate immediately.

  • Isn't it?!

When my stomach is super full with fatty stuff, I get that too. Something like a medium portion of oats with soy milk like 15 minutes earlier is ideal. When I swim, I need something like a müesli bar at 1.5km if I want to continue.

It might be because I have autoimmune hyperthyroidism, and, as a result, hypotension and a below ideal weight.

  • You're eating those as a treat, not for your health. You probably know the negative impact that sugar and trans fats have, so if you're going to treat yourself, I'd say make sure to make it count.

Do you get more overall pleasure from a little bit of enjoyment throughout the day or from a lot of enjoyment for a short amount of time? Maybe half now and half later or tomorrow? That's how I decide how to eat/do stuff that I enjoy but know can negatively impact my health if I over do it.

If you do want to make it less unhealthy though, try to make sure they're not the only thing in your stomach and rinse your mouth after you're done eating them.

  • How do you know someone has a PhD?

When it becomes acutely relevant, they'll politely let you know, and then you can become annoyed at them about it.

Thinking about it, that exact thing also applies to other 'how do you know someone is/has/does [...]' as well.

  • For the price of two big studio games, you can buy yourself a pair of running shoes, DND dice, a few books, watercolor and paper, and have some money leftover. It's not that you can't afford it, it's that the way capitalism is designed makes you too exhausted to have a hobby.

  • Today I decided to start the day with a swim. I arrived at the pool at 11am. I just don't get how people do it. Also, if I do any sort of physical activity without having had a full meal that day, I can literally feel myself run out of energy within minutes.
