  • Not a solution to all your problems of course, but the only way to buy something and preserve your privacy is to pay cash. Everything else will get your info to someone. Lots of good suggestions for lesser evils here for when you have no choice but to shop online.

  • Anecdote to confirm what you're saying: my grandpa had to learn to cook in his 80s when his wife became too disabled to do it. In the beginning, she was giving him instructions the whole time. He's become decent at it. It's never too late.

  • Since this was true when I was in primary school, it'll always be seared into my brain. I mean, I realized this when I was learning to count and spell, of course it's saved as one of the most basic facts of life. Like, 4+4=8, 90s are 10 years ago 70s are 30 years ago etc was stuff learned at the same time, so it's like it's saved in a similar way.

  • If it makes you feel any better, we have a joke in Austria that we might as well not have an army, because we border 1) NATO, 2) Switzerland, and if either of those become a threat, we might as well capitulate immediately.

  • Isn't it?!

When my stomach is super full with fatty stuff, I get that too. Something like a medium portion of oats with soy milk like 15 minutes earlier is ideal. When I swim, I need something like a müesli bar at 1.5km if I want to continue.

It might be because I have autoimmune hyperthyroidism, and, as a result, hypotension and a below ideal weight.
