  • The right case where there isn’t popular support for the plaintiff.

Bonus points if the case has more of a grey area such as the plaintiff agreed to the TOS while doing something similar with another business unit and closer in time to when the incident occurs.

I.E they sign the TOS for a Disney cruise and the incident happens a week later at the park.

  • He retired from his role at Google a few years ago so yeah…

But he is still a typical C-Suite asshole. Blame workers for strategic corporate failures (Googles competition all offer WFH) and take personal credit (and bonuses) for any and all successes.

  • There is a rumor that a coup had placed Xi under house arrest and had silently taken over the country a few weeks ago. Normally rumors don’t mean anything in most countries. But this is China where anyone speaking out against their leader would mean you’d get “disappeared”.

Supposedly the coup plotters don’t like the direction China has taken and want a return to good relations with the West when everyone was making money.

Moving away from relations with Russia could be a sign of this.

  • Evidently many Lemmy users don’t understand that this a threat, not a promise to leave. Direct quote from Trump:

"If something happens with this election, which would be a horror show, we'll meet the next time in Venezuela, because it'll be a far safer place to meet than our country," Trump said to Musk. "OK, so we'll go. You and I will go, and we'll have a meeting and dinner in Venezuela."

He’s implying the violence that will be unleashed on the US by his followers if he looses will make Venezuela (a country that is currently in revolt because of contested elections) seem safe in comparison to what his people will do here.

This is a classic “mobster” threat against anyone who opposes him that he just threw out.

  • The CCP strategically cornered the market in more than a few critical areas for EV production. Individual Western firms are not able to compete with a well funded and coordinated effort by a state actor to control every stage of the production process.

On top of that the real estate crisis China has caused local consumption to crater. The means that China is looking to the West for markets to dump their over capacity.

No country is going to sit idly by while their industrial base is directly threatened especially in a critical area such as green tech. Especially by an openly hostile power such as China.

  • There is a lot of creative editing in the video. Whenever the guy makes a negative remark the video has a second panel zooms in awkwardly on Mr. Beasts face. It’s not even consistent sometime it’s the entire face most of the time it is part of his face it emphasizing whatever facial expression he’s having and making Mr. Beast seem sinister.

IMO it’s clickbait, cringy and not very convincing. The creative editing goes out of its way to make Mr. Beast seem sinister just because he is exhibiting a normal reaction. Everyone including Mr Beast is allowed to show negative emotions or surprised reactions when someone criticizes our work or something we believe in.

Part of being an adult is taking that negative feedback and reining in that negative emotion. Then using that criticism to improve and better understand yourself or your product. But it doesn’t mean those negative emotions aren’t there.

  • It was the fact that Bud Light openly advertised using a trans person. It was an image that could be flaunted and would rally even moderate republicans.

An executive respectfully writing a response detailing why they would not want their brand associated with a platform that had extreme right wing views is much harder to rally around…

Fundamentally it’s because there is no convenient image to rally behind… they would have to read and think to be outraged.
