  • If a civilian comes at you with a weapon, trying to kill you, are they still a civilian?

If a civilian stands in front of relief trucks, sending food/medicine/clothes/tents while the military destroys food/medicine/homes, are they still a civilian?

If a civilian cheers every time one of their country's soldiers shoots a random person or when a bomb in dropped on a hospital, or when missiles are fired at the places went to get away from the fighting, are they still a civilian?

'Cause, from where I'm sitting, being okay with slaughtering people kinds makes it seem like they aren't 'innocent' in this.

  • Pretty sure nobody has any real idea how to send text correspondence anymore.

Like, I work in a building 10+ miles away from my boss and often communication is done through text, email, occasionally by voice, but almost never in person.

Every time I send a work email to my boss/coworkers, I find myself staring at the screen wondering..."Wait, is there any particular way to start these things? 'Dear So-n-So' is really weird. 'First/Last Name' seems fine unless I'm sending the email to multiple people, which happens pretty regularly. Would just jump straight into the body of the text, but that seems... wrong somehow... and potentially confusing if an email address is not something that is human readable or mixed in with a list of email addresses."

Eventually I just bang something out and figure, whatever, its not like 90% of my emails seem to get read by anybody anyways.

  • I have yet to stumble across a sci-fi short story about space travelers finding an entire civilization's worth of dead bodies floating round in space only to realize that they were all time travelers who only got part of the time traveling math correct. They figured out how to get through time but couldn't figure out how to get through space, but since all their volunteers died, they never figured it out and just kept sending people to their doom.

  • With no way out of a worsening war, Zelensky’s options look bad or worse

...Zelensky’s options look bad or worse

    ...look bad or worse

    ... bad or worse

This title looks "bad or worse."

The status quo is awful. With the fight now a grinding stalemate, Ukrainians are dying on the battlefield daily. But a cease-fire is also a nonstarter, Ukrainians say, because it would just give the Russians time to replenish their forces.

They don't have problems resupplying, Ukraine does.

...If partners who have promised to give us ammunition don’t give it, of course the situation gets worse. But the image of the U.S. will get worse in the world.”

Tell me you're fighting a proxy war between the USA and Russia without telling me you're fighting a proxy war between the USA and Russia.

  • “We’re taking this seriously, because we have to,” Schiff said. “We’ve seen this movie before … and how perilous it is to ignore what someone is saying when they say they want to be a dictator.”

They just have a bunch of Trump merch in hidden safes in their offices... "We'll just blend in! Tell them we were always one of them! Its a fool-proof plan!"

  • Its weird, right?

Democratic Party People and liberals will constantly SCREAM about how the "right wing", Republicans, and conservatives are an existential threat while pointing to this stuff as proof.

But will instinctively reach for pearls to clutch instead of a gun.

  • A chunk of the funders hedge their bets though, right?

And what organization that has spent potentially MILLIONS of dollars at this point is just going to walk away from their investment instead of allowing their pet capital critter a bit of slack on the leash to give some crumbs to the unwashed masses to quiet us down?

  • One of the questions was particulary difficult.

If its the only question that the kids "cheated" on, probably just make that question weigh less compared to the rest of the questions. Bonus question or something.

I mean, unless the point of the test is to weed out kids who shouldn't be taking the course...
