  • I don't have all my colored stripes memorized... Can someone translate the slides?

Edit- wait, I stared at it longer and I think I got it. Ussr was crushing former Soviet like Latvia, etc, and new Russia ball acts surprised that they don't like them now. Sorry I was slow.

  • Voting on a post appears to no longer count as "read", and thus is not filtering from feed. Intended? Or am I doing it wrong?

Still very excited for this upgrade, thank you!

edit: I guess on the plus side, it looks like it's not "just me", so maybe there's a bug they're working on.

  • I have a spreadsheet tracking all my for-myself builds from 2000. I used to average a new build (or upgrade) every 20 months. (it was my only hobby... I'm pretty boring)

Last 10 years it's been more like every 36 months. But that's after having "the itch" for at least a year.

I'm 40 months into this build, and an upgrade is hardly worth it. Maybe next year when it's been a whole 2 generations CPU/GPU?

  • I played it a few months ago, before 1.0, and honestly the difficulty pushes me away.

I expected for it to get harder over time, yes, but coming straight out of the tutorial I couldn't "succeed" on the first real game. Pretty sure I had everything on easy too. Maybe it was the second game, either way.

  • I sound like you, but I bet your answer is that we're buying groceries and preparing a lot of those meals.

Single parents or busy ones that can't do that have to buy ready food.

A classic tale of "it's expensive to be poor".

  • Holy crap pets. Both of my dogs passed, but it was about $1,000/yr each for normal stuff, when you add it all up. Food, vet, boarding, toys, beds, etc. you aren't kidding.

I also know that people will skip better food and the vet, meaning they end up with unhealthy pets too.

  • For me it was the reverse. Pop was the clear winner for several reasons. Plus I like System76 overall. I vigorously recommend Pop as a beginner/gaming choice.

But honestly, Ubuntu vs PopOS should not have been that different for you - they are extremely similar. Pop is cleaner with less bloat, and not beholden to Canonical.

To each their own of course, and having options is what makes switching great.

  • Interesting to see Ubuntu for headless? Since it's such a desktop-focused choice. What are your thoughts?

I ask because right now my desktop and my headless are both PopOS (because I liked it on my desktop), but I was thinking of changing the headless to something lighter.
