You say that but when Cyberpunk fell flat on its face, everyone immediately called out CDPR corporate specifically for putting investors over developers.
The bigger problem is media blaming devs. The gaming media has always been illegitimate and has to bend the knee to studios so they won’t call out the corporate shitshow.
All this to say: I love coverage by Jason Schreier and James Stephanie Sterling for filling the hole of gaming corporate cynicism that totalbiscuit (rip) left in my heart
I’ve made this comment other places, I’ll make it here. This tech changes much less than people think. If anything, this will protect people from leaking of nudes because people will assume it’s probably fake.
All this is is an advanced form of fantasy that has existed ever since photoshop has existed. And importantly, we will deal with these nude photos the exact same way we deal with real nudes.
Meaning, if you catch people distributing fake photos of their classmates, the punishment should be the same as if they were real. And they need to be severe.
The reason this is a problem and I’m concerned for young women is that protections for sexual harassment online have already been abysmal. So this will make things worse and since we don’t protect women very well in the US, I expect major issues. Basically, the problems aren’t new, but our lack of action will make this awful. Treated correctly, this is a non-issue and these photos should be kept in private.
Surrender and nothing. Surrender and live in 1/6th of the land you used to have with far fewer resources.
Unfortunately, I think that keeping up resistance against Israel and forcing them to do what they’re doing as loudly as possible is the best option they’ve got.
It’s a deliberate propaganda position. Israel has no stance other than the weak “its defense” and for a long time they’ve said stuff like this to protect them from any criticism.
I think most of this is irrelevant because the tool that is AI image generation is inherently hard to limit in this way and I think it will be so prevalent as to be hard to regulate. What I’m saying is: we should prepare for a future where fake nudes of literally anyone can be made easily and shared easily. It’s already too late. These tools, as was said earlier, already exist and are here. The only thing we can do is severely punish people who post the photos publicly. Sadly, we know how slow laws are to change. So in that light, we need to legislate based on long term impact instead of short term reactions.
I’d be very surprised to learn that colonoscopies themselves are useless considering that we know polyps lead to cancer and are cancerous and we are visually identifying and removing them with the good ole rectal camera device.
Also colonoscopies aren’t just used for cancer prevention and are used on IBD to determine the condition of the disease. Basically any time you have a problem with your lower intestine or rectum, they’re a cheap and effective way to find out what’s going on.
I feel like what you did and the reaction you had to what you did is common. And yet, I don’t feel like it’s harmful unless other people see it. But this conversation is about to leave men’s heads and end up in public discourse where I have no doubt it will create moral or ethical panic.
A lot of technology challenges around AI are old concerns about things that we’ve had access to for decades. It’s just easier to do this stuff now. I think it’s kind of pointless to stop or prevent this stuff from happening. We should mostly focus on the harms and how to prevent them.
Yeah I don’t really support that implementation. The single topic vote causes problems. Not every senator needs to be well informed on every single issue they vote for. That’s what committees are for. And what the rest of the party is for.
Friend, I support Ukraine and the aid they’re getting. I don’t support republicans and never will. And I won’t do their work for them here. I don’t know how this got lost and turned into such a political thing, I was just expressing that our money for war is near endless and yet we have unaffordable housing. I want to fund Ukraine AND I want people around me taken care of. All I was pointing out is apathy and I know I’m not alone in that.
Like I said, I want them to win. It’s important they win. For all of the reasons you gave. All I’m saying is that it gets harder and harder to support and hope for others when I feel like my family is drowning and I know that my neighbors are too. I know a lot of it is weapons funding, some of it isn’t. I wish we treated the people at home as importantly as we do world conflicts, that’s all I’m saying. Does no one else feel that apathy?
Do you know how apathetic I feel when my country gives hundreds of billions to fight this war and most of the people I know can’t afford to live? We work harder than ever, are as productive as ever, get so few days off, only to pay for bombs landing in countries we can’t even pick out on a map.
I want Ukraine to win. I want it badly. Ukraine will ask for more and more money so long as there is war. They will get it. Please don’t delay. So will genocidal Israel. And I will be living with my parents until I’m 30. Uncertain if I can afford healthcare.
I know who to be mad at and I want to feel good supporting just wars. But I go to pay my bills, I stand in line at the grocery store, I turn the heat off in my house, and all I hear are the bombs.
What if I told you that slime ball Matt Gaetz has already proposed this issue multiple times. Not sure how I feel about that but it’s the only sane thing I’ve heard from his side.
That’s what I was afraid of. It’s one thing to give aid to a genocidal nation, it’s a complete other thing for you to supply them with bombs and ammo and try to make a dollar off of it. It’s all so disgusting.
It’s absolutely unsubstantiated. I’m just aware that the US does that quite a lot, especially to proxies such as Taiwan. They’re a strategic trading partner. So I’d be surprised if the US wasn’t involved in getting that party elected somehow.
