  • Saying that people would enjoy public violence is a pure fantasy. No average person is going to go to an execution, they’re barely even favorable and only because it’s “humane”. Most people are nonviolent. Most people will never see anyone die unexpectedly or intentionally. Most people wont ever seriously injure someone.

  • The job of corporations and media and politics is to divide people. And even more so it will make you think your neighbor is a savage. It keeps people alone and independent workers to exploit. When in reality, your neighbors are average people that aren’t bloodthirsty. Most people can hardly handle their own lives and are depressed enough as it is without having a sporting event dedicated to killing people. I didn’t realize how well this propaganda type stuff works but clearly it does.

  • I can’t tell if you’re joking or if you think people have the same morals as someone from the roman history

  • "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," Trump said. “They're not sending you…They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists."

  • We’ve also already passed the point at which the DNC would start backing a new candidate. We’re stuck with Biden unless he croaks before election night.

  • It is but I don’t remember seeing any checks of strength past about the middle of the game. Maybe there was a couple.

  • Absolutely, there are gem moments in this game. Which makes it kind of tragic that I couldn’t get into it. The art is really good and so is the theme. I just wish the mechanics of the Shambler section and the psych ward were used more.

  • Yep! I enjoyed that factor of the story but like I said, I don’t think there’s much reason to have you picking where to put new points as the story goes. It personally led me to a situation where on a first playthrough I was a jack of all trades, master of few and didn’t have the skill checks required for certain things. Also the skill checks aren’t frequent. The strength skill is pretty useless and the eloquence skill gets used a small handful of times.

  • Can confirm, it’s the one from five years ago. I still enjoyed it btw but it feels much older then 5 years

  • I don’t think most people are stupid if stupid means lacking reasoning skills or knowledge or curiosity. You can find all sorts of people who you’d think sound stupid but know tons about one subject. But even if they don’t, they likely have a working knowledge base and only know what they need to know.

What I consider stupid or problematic is that most people, probably 75% or more of the overall population, are not skeptical or analytical and have a fundamentally busted epistemology. Even if your information filter works, if you don’t understand why it works, I’m going to struggle in conversation with you. So yes I think the general population has a hard time thinking critically because they don’t know how to analyze their own beliefs or knowledge.

  • One of my best gaming experiences is when you boot up Half Life Alyx. It has a giant and fully 3D model of the bald dude with the valve on his head and he does the slow turn at the end of the iconic music.

Not only is it a killer intro, but it’s one I felt like I’ve poured so many hours into valve titles to receive in what feels like its best and final form.

  • Same here friend. The disease is rough and hits everyone differently. Hope you’re doing alright with things tho :)

  • Hey! How dare you insult my ultra American underground particle physics NASCAR stadium!

Why don’t you just admit already that the Earnhardt boson would’ve been way cooler than the “Higgs”?

  • Yeah we typically thing age discrimination is saying we only hire people between 20-40y/o but it would also cover it if you said “I won’t hire someone 21 years old only” and still applies to banning someone 21.5 years old. And 21 years and 6 months and 27 days old.

Same applies if I ban anyone with an age divisible by 3. It’s a group of people, but if their age has anything to do with why you aren’t hiring them then I’d say this applies.

  • I once made a pact with my best friend, around when we were 12 years old, that if either of us came out as gay that the other one would kill them.

My solution was to stop talking to him a long time ago and to get a protective boyfriend. I refuse to become the most dangerous gay game.

  • To note, we don’t say “sixhundredfifteen”, we say it more like they’re separate numbers so it’s like there’s a silent “and” in there. Sometimes its not silent and it sounds like “six hundred ‘n fifteen” with a very subtle N in there.

  • If your human brain could simulate a human brain, then we’d really be excited.

  • This is another reason Epic games will lose everything to Valve. Their storefront is useless and is a money loser. But even if it weren’t, valve is moving themselves to be the gaming king of Linux. Where no competitor exists meaningfully. Maybe GoG?

  • Fun fact: you can climb mountains that are miles high, taller than Everest already in no man’s sky. Is it fun? No it really isn’t.
