  • A little less than a third of people voted for it. A little less than a third against it. A little more than a third didn't vote. There was no majority here. I don't get this "you wanted this, so duck you, enjoy the consequences" response. A third of us fought against this. Our kids don't deserve a hell scape because boomers are gullible.

  • Yeah, she "begrudgingly" voted for Trump, just like the people you're talking about. My parents on the other hand, lifelong Republicans, voted Harris. Sure "not all Republicans" but it is all the ones who voted for Trump. There's no excuse for them to have voted for him the second time. I am sympathetic to Republicans who held their nose and voted red the first time, but it's a different party now.

  • All Republicans. My idiot sister. She's like "I watched it" as if that's proof it wasn't? If the white superiority groups are applauding your actions, you're in the wrong. That quieted her down but it didn't change her mind. She thinks we're all over reacting.

  • Regular boiling is pretty good! The micrplastics end up sticking to the calcium deposits left behind. Never been so happy for that stupid white buildup in my kettle!

"As reported in ACS’ Environmental Science & Technology Letters, boiling and filtering calcium-containing tap water could help remove nearly 90% of the nano- and microplastics present."

  • The craziest thing about this is that you're boss doesn't text you anything else all day?? Is all other communication over email? I mean I assume a lot of it is face to face but they never message you while they're in a meeting?

  • I hear you but after my husband was laid off (along with thousands in his field in our area) he looked for months and months for a new job. Unfortunately so did the other thousands, so sometimes even with 6 or 8 interviews he wouldn't get the job. One place ghosted him after THEY made an offer.

He's an apprentice now in a trade. These two years are really tight with money, but we wish he had started up in the trade immediately instead of wasting all that time looking. We'd be surviving better on this low pay if we hadn't had so many months of zero pay for him.

  • "It [the bullying] had gotten so aggressive, Carranza was meeting with a school counselor multiple times a week. Her family, however, was never notified."

What the literal fuck. The bullies said the bullying wouldn't ease up until her family got deported. She was meeting with the school counselor several times a week and the school didn't separate the bullies out? They didn't notify the parents? I hope people are held personally liable. Your beloved little girl taking her own life is an unimaginable tragedy.

The president is setting such a shameful example.

  • Obviously we need to support everyone and ableism is bad, but I wouldn't want to get drafted which is basically a death sentence and then a guy who gets bring from A to B mixed up with bring from B to A is beside me with a loaded gun. I definitely wouldn't want him behind me with that gun. To say that's elitist is intentionally naive.

  • I think this may be body dependent. Sometimes I get a nasty hangover headache from just two drinks. Lady weekend I pounded like 5 and a half drinks in an hour or two, I was drunk and queasy until deep into the next morning and no hangover. I think it's more about what you eat and drink besides the alcohol.

  • No no no, rolling takes forever and nothing stays rolled unless the drawer is full. The future is shelves. All my clothes are on a bookcase in my closet. Nicely and easily folded, but I can see everything always, and retrieval is easier when you can lift the stack from the side. Viva la shelves

  • We couldn't even organize to get people to vote, and in most places you could do it by mail which meant 15 minutes on a computer to get the ballot sent right to your home where you could fill it out and return it by putting it back in your mailbox. Voting in person was even easier than that! We are powerless because the masses are apathetic.

  • Because normally eggs are very cheap, very easy, and very healthy. When you're broke and living off pasta, beans, and rice, eggs are something you make that you feel good about feeding yourself and your family. Anybody can make good scrambled eggs, and those two eggs in the morning can get you through until you get back home after work.

I can't explain everyone's obsession, but mine is easy to explain: I want to feed my baby two eggs most days of the week. They're clean, she enjoys them plain, they're easy for her to chew, they're very quick, and there's no question on whether they cooked long enough. I hate the taste of eggs but I ate them non-stop through my pregnancy and now as I breast feed. You can't beat them for efficiency. Some days those two eggs are all I eat until dinner time.

They're also crazy versatile! Scrambled, eggs-in-a-basket, hard boiled, French toast, over easy, runny on toast with a tomato slice, egg salad.

  • I love to learn the 4 hours thing! He's definitely cooks chicken fine, it's that I am always nervous that he puts the packaging on the counter and what if he touches that and then the cabinet handle to get the pan, and what if he moves another pot out of the way, I just feel like I wash my hands and the counters after every step and he doesn't

  • There's a guy in Florida who eats a lot of raw chicken (and washes it down with raw eggs apparently) and he does just fine. You can Google "guy who ate raw chicken for 100 days" and a bunch of stories come up about him. His name is John.

It's made me feel better about being less like a crazy person in my kitchen following my husband around critiquing how he's cross contaminating every surface in my life. I don't think he's careful enough. I stopped freaking out about it and we haven't gotten sick so it turns out he is careful enough, and I just have anxiety.

  • Some women say they enjoy it which I cannot really fathom. I did not care for it. As for why the woman would want to get pregnant though.. I mean that's about having a kid, not about being pregnant, isn't it?

And also not to be crass, but haven't you ever had sex that's so good in that moment you and your body genuinely want to get pregnant?
