  • I mean, if no one is reporting it, they likely aren't sitting around checking posts every 15 min. Ones that stay up may just be missed; they aren't notified about any posts through Lemmy simply by being a mod, so unless they see the post themselves, it may just get missed. I missed a post on a sub I mod for 2 weeks; not that it didn't fit the community, it just didn't come up in the feed and I don't always go manually check the sub feed.

    Not that deep or dire

  • Weirdly, he isn't worried about the Americans smuggling it in or manufacturing it here. It's just those pesky other races. American Fentanyl is good for you; I hear RFK is recommending it over the Measles vaccine.

  • I wonder if you could do it like the aggregation apps that used to exist for like...FB, Twitter, Instagram, where you can access/post from multiple accounts. My big thing is I hate having a dozen apps that do the same thing; so having an aggregator app is nice. For people who want the singular account, you could see both Bsky and Mastodon. For people like yourself, you could log in to both accounts and have separate feeds, just homed on the same app. And I imagine it'd be nicer, because Activity Pub would be the base, and it could display different UIs based on what information is being pulled, so it isn't just like a Twitter feed on FB. You could get the Lemmy view on Lemmy, Twitter view on Bsky/Mastodon, Instagram on PixelFed, etc.

  • I'm the only person who's ever posted, so it isn't fully fleshed out yet lol. But in general, it's just "does this add to the community?". If it does, it'll stay. If it doesn't, it won't. The whole "issue" is lack of engagement/content right now. I'm largely the only one posting in two communities, so I'll take anything right now, even if it's self-promotion. Just don't post every single day.

  • I think a lot of it is that it's direction was a bit different. Halo was built on basically immortal Master Chief. Reach had Spartan 3s, which weren't as "Master Chief"-y, and we see every one of em die on screen as part of the story. That is a pretty stark contrast to Chief never dying. Additionally, if IIRC, the multiplayer was meh, and multiplayer was a huuuuge deal at that time. The story was great (even despite what people said about it at the time) but the multiplayer didn't carry the game, so it was generally a "play the story, go back to Halo 3" kinda game.

    My perspective on it, tho.

  • That's weird, why would he send vaccines? Those have 5g signal receivers in it for mind control. Is he stupid?

  • It would be awfully convenient that Russians are openly speaking on what Trump does and does not owe to them without some kind of motive; whether or not it's a separate "plot" or similar one I guess is up for debate though. I would have 0 issue believing that money is flowing through Russia as well. When you have billions, there aren't too many restrictions on what you can and can't do.

  • I was worried there for a second lol.

It could also be both; Trump has ties to Russia and there have been open statements by Russian officials about Trump; specifically Patrushev saying

"The election campaign is over. To achieve success in the election, Donald Trump relied on certain forces to which he has corresponding obligations. As a responsible person, he will be obliged to fulfill them."

  • I mean, next tallest building in the world is at least a tangible object lol. FSD is 1s and 0s that they say work given very narrow parameters and weather. But yeah, completely agree

  • Fair, but I do think it is deeper. His current ties to the administration have some current implications, but even prior to that, the amount he received with govt contracts and his habit of over-promising and under-delivering make me skeptical that the upwards trajectory can largely be blamed on retail investors. His cult of personality certainly is a portion of it, but I don't think it would just be that.

I'm also just a stupid person bitching on the internet, though, so give me thoughts whatever weight you'd prefer lmao.

  • Honestly, this just showcases that other nations NEED to have some form of military self reliance. The US cannot be trusted to remain hard allies with wavering political stances and arguable Russia ties. As much as I hate larger military industrial complexes, other nations reliance on the US has aided in these companies growing ever larger and causing the current strain where countries are scrambling to establish their own products and supplies.

  • We're saying the same thing, just one more eloquently than the other (you than me lol).

  • There is some kind of shady deal going on, I bet. 0 reason why Tesla is worth more than like the next 12 biggest auto makers combined. The argument previously is that they're a tech company with FSD, but that has become increasingly untrue as the years, missed targets, failed upgrades, and lack of implementation continue to pile up. Add-on Cyber Truck failures and Musk basically abandoning Tesla to play Govt Undertaker, and the company itself looks worse positioned than at any point in time.

  • I'm confident Anna Kendrick would love me if she just took the chance to get to know me...

  • 100%. They're going to cut govt spending, allowing private interests to step in at vastly increased prices. And it's going to be weird all these contacts and friends of politicians just happen to be positioned well to benefit off this.

  • Someone is wrong lol. NFL, for example, cannot do anything outside of Twitter at this time. They are apparently working on it, but it's gotta be implemented league-wide, so it's taking some time. Idk if they're even trying to get onto Mastodon, last I heard it was just Bluesky.

This is a large org with hundreds of millions of fans, with no presence on Fediverse really. I'm sure there are mirror accounts, but none are official.

  • Dudes downfall is tragic. Hero to villain speed run, and it could potentially be blamed on his stroke, although I didn't follow him closely enough in the beginning to see if there were signs

  • Alternatively, someone who is posting unpopular shit gets downvoted of their own accord, and blames it on politics. Almost assuredly has shouted "leave politics out of blank" but then injects politics into everything.

  • Absolutely. It's also what kills me when people say "stop bringing politics into everything". Everything in the US is inherently political. Reading a kids book at a library is political. The JROTC marching the flag at a football game. Getting medical care. Everything is tied into politics in one way or another.
