  • Sure. My goal isn't to be on the next Twitter, or Mastodon, or anything on short format social media. It's to make Twitter look worse by inflating Bluesky account numbers.

  • Idk why anyone argues it. I'm on it, but only because I want to support Not Twitterยฎ. I'm there to just be user no. 1663987 who doesn't want to be on Twitter. I post a stupid thought, some sports commentary, and scroll the feed for a minute or two. If it went away tomorrow, I'd have 0 negative effects on my life in even the most miniscule way.

Like...I like it there, and people seem to want an alternative to Twitter pretty bad, but idk if Bluesky is it. But I also don't care to join Mastodon, as this kinda format isn't something I care about or take seriously, and I'd rather get information here. If I get a Mastodon account in the future, though, I'd rather not have it tied directly back to my spite posting account lol

  • It's not actively hurting me, but I don't have full range of motion when grabbing things, my grip strength is way down, and it does hurt sometimes. It's like an 80% it's OK, 20% it sucks kinda bad type thing.

  • 25, cause I started having arthritis symptoms at 26. I just wanna move my fingers fully again...

  • Happy for Norris, amped for Williams and Albon. Sucks Sainz went out early. Ferrari doing Ferrari shit still, Yuki got screwed a bit. I'm sure conditions jumbled it a bit, but Verstappen not looking as far off the pace as people were assuming, in a worse car, in hard conditions. I'm sure Norris was strategizing and coasting a bit, cause those McLarens held up those initial intermediates well and it seemed other cars were burning through them.

  • I've decided this is the season I let the world know I'm a Williams fan. Love the color. Love the battery. Albon is cool. Sainz is endearing. Great team.

  • No, I'm an identical twin. Quite literally another me lmao

  • Apparently nothing, my fault for commenting and not clicking through links and assuming it was referencing current Argentinian changes.

How has this held up in the current Argentinian landscape, if I could ask? Are they still going along the same path with regards to worker ownership or has that changed since the early 00s?

  • Javier Milei and his massive govt cuts. It's also losing a lot of nuance in Argentina's situation vs the US, so even before direct comparisons start, issues arise. But the more well-aware GOP people I know are decently big fans of his tactics of large govt cuts to reduce overall spending.

  • They love to use him as an example of govt cuts to services to "stabilize" spending, but will also ignore the mechanisms by which people are pulling themselves out of poverty.

  • Literally wearing some rn, also a fan, they suck to work out in tho, not been a fan of that. Just odd ranges of motion don't seem to fit with the fit lol

  • Oh for sure. There is a definite downside to the leagues that's becoming increasingly hard to ignore. I live in a large college town, so even outside of the team, it ends up being a community event and it's nice to have all your friends get together, even if for a superficial reason. Probably 80% of my Reddit use was sports subs and discussions not really for the sport, but because I liked the community aspect of it. I'd like to see that again here, so I'll keep posting away lol

  • Sports is surprising to me that it hasn't gotten bigger here. I get that the tech crowd isn't classically overlapping the sports crowd, but I feel like tech has gotten so mainstream anymore that it's more sports people into tech than tech people into sports. A lot of the subs and instances are really lacking too, not to comment on the people posting there and doing what they can. It's a tough landscape right now

  • Idk how Herta isn't choice 1a. It just fits. 2nd driver is harder. Perez seems like a good choice; has been with a top team recently, had good sponsor money, and could feasibly have some good input on F1 operations. Plus he helps bridge the Mexican fanbase to the team, which is nice geographically.

  • Pepperoni rolls from West Virginia, and it's not even close. Simple and easy to make, last unrefrigerated, and I can eat about 40 of em if I'm not careful.

  • This is what I've been sitting on for the last few days. He is trying to push us to the point that our only ally left could be Russia, by economically and politically alienating our current allies. If/when it got to that point, we'd take whatever we could get. Without us, NATO in it's current form also loses a ton of power, further making the return of the Soviet Union possible.

And yet this is like...some wild theory that can't be conceived. He's been saying for years he wants to reunify.

  • Well actually looks like it's one of the mods posting it, so that's not likely to change I guess. I'd say to start your own similar community and mod it how you see fit. If that's how they want to run it, there isn't anything you can do about it. If the community doesn't care about moderating content to that degree, what can you do besides demand they change to your image of what it should be?
