Because it had worse margins than other cars they could be selling. Heard an interview with their CEO about this exact thing. Other vehicles make them more money so they are focusing there.
Our lack of healthcare has nothing to do with lack of spending. We spend more on public healthcare per capita than countries with universal public healthcare.
Our problem is lack of price control, not lack of funds.
Can someone explain to me why the border shouldn’t be closed except to legal travel?
Because it sounds to me like illegal travel SHOULD be stopped. People immigrating illegally are working for super low wages, increasing supply of labor and therefore lowering demand. It’s bad for workers. I know people say “Americans won’t do those jobs” but that’s because they are paying nothing since they can get highly desperate exploitable people. Labor should be on the side of restricted immigration.
Note I’m not talking about asylum, but the USA shouldn’t be the only place people go for asylum. It’s my impression that most immigrants are economic anyways.
People are posting all kinds of ridiculous solutions that they know are impossible. Legalize drugs. Use less drugs. The cartels run more than just drugs! They run fucking avocados!! And electronics!! They have diversified. Never mind that it’s politically impossible to do anything like that. It can’t happen.
Invading Mexico and shooting the cartels CAN happen. It gives money to the defense industry, which itself is enough reason that it could happen. It’s probably even in the USA’s best interest to try and de-corrupt Mexico (never mind that this would be a bloody mess with huge loss of life). My point isn’t that it’s a good idea, it’s that it’s a solution that could actually happen in real life.
Thanks so much for the reply. I didn’t understand that it’s private; I figured it was just aggregating Zillow and Craigslist postings etc, which are public. If that isn’t the case, then yes I can see how it might be illegal.
How is this different than gas stations looking at a price tracking app to set their prices? You know, the apps that show you what gas costs all over town. It’s just information, and they obviously make the choice to raise prices when theirs are low compared to peer competitors.
That doesn’t mean a gas station doesn’t charge less when it’s in an undesirable location, or charge more when it’s in a busy location. Same is true for housing.
I know everyone is pissed about the high cost of housing, but this case doesn’t really have merit. It’s not the horse to cheer for.
