That's a good way to look at it lol, I'm contributing to the Lemmy fluff. Someone will read it and eat 5 seconds of their time, thus contributing to the goal of Lemmy; wasting time

I have a bad habit of leaving comments when I want to leave none ever. So comments >0 is too many by my own reckoning. I have the free time because depression. I make these comments because I've lost my self control in that respect

I lived in an apartment complex in my early 20s. Left the car unlocked one night and someone rummaged through it. The only thing they took was my prescription sunglasses. It aggrivates me to think that the moment they tried it they realized it was a prescription and threw em out. $600 just gone to steal something absolutely useless to anyone but me.

Well I did say steel so centrifugal casting may be more appropriate since rotomolded is typically a resin. However it still leaves machining to be done.

Though all this was mainly meant to be in a CNC machine shop setting where neither of those are options, hence the exaggerated impossibility of creating it

Oh design engineers will make something absolutely functional... In theory, but the people on the manufacturing floor are scratching their head looking at a print for a perfectly hollow sphere with no blends, hole, seams, or affixes made from a single piece of steel going WTF guys? (This is an exaggeration ofc)

I tried to read the mission earth series but I just couldn't connect with it. There was too much in the universe that it just expected you to relate to but gave no explanation of what it actually was. That being said, I was also young when I tried to read it.

One super easy thing to help a little is swish some water in your mouth after you east/drink. If you're gonna drink something sugary or acidic, do it quickly, don't sip it.

Nah, probably not. They're fine but I have not much in common with them. I talked to one sibling for the first time in five years last year. I send another a happy birthday text once a year. I talk to the one living parent a couple times a year. Theres no bad blood between them and I.

We are a pretty independent family anyway, always have been. I see friends call up their parents weekly or even daily and I find it so strange to have a connection to them like that. Who just...calls up a family member randomly?

Sadly and unfortunately true. Though the reality is that it's still bitter and acidic eating away at someone who craves connection. Luck, it seems, is really the determinate factor in much of life.

Still, I hope you get lucky and find what you want from life as much as I hope for it myself.

Not an Incel, usually I have great interactions with women IRL and it more often than not lead to dates and relationships. What I absolutely suck at is meeting people.

I'm currently desperately trying to figure out how to meet more people kinda in general. I have a solid friend group a mix of married, single, and in-relationship people but all our hobbies usually aren't conducive to meeting people. I've recently joined a 20s & 30s meet up group for random activities to hopefully meet some people and I've been trying to casually read or stuff in local places like Barnes and Nobel. It just feels hard to interact with strangers nowadays if there's no medium to start the conversation.

I've looked into volunteering but all the opportunities are during my work hours so that's out unfortunately. I'm an introvert so usually bars and the like are out of the question for me. Kinda just stuck. My life otherwise is actually in a pretty decent spot overall

I just got hit with that in reverse. I was a an absolute chad last week, got all my stuff done, feeling great. Now I'm perpetually exhausted, dream of sleep and death. Zero motivation. Depression a real mood killer that.

When someone doesn't understand a process and asks "can't you just do XYZ?" Usually management. "Just" is actually a 2 week project and tons of hours and trouble shooting

I've killed deer, chickens, chipmunks, squirrel, and some other small pests. Yes, I did gut and clean the deer and chickens myself. And yes, I did eat their tasty fleshy meat.

I've only made 3 purchases on it in the last year and 2 were gifts 1 was an emulator card for GBA, all three were not accessible locally.

I generally don't order stuff online, pretty much ever. I don't really need more stuff.

Meeting people, especially since I really dislike the idea of making someone uncomfortable or putting them is such a position. If I'm out in public I do not want to ask out someone who's working a service job and I rarely talk to people otherwise. So unless there's a good setting for natural talking to happen it feels rude/unwanted as they just want to do their thing in public.
