Yeah, but the dog deserves a better human. This punishes the dog and the human. We should just punish the human.

Better laws would be that you can't own a dog that isn't vaccinated. I know that doesn't solve the problem after a bite, but it would help the dogs in the long run.

It might be quick to get to a windows log in screen, but it still takes a long time to get back to a usable state, not to mention the state that you actually want it in (programs and files open, etc).

Having standby or hibernation was really great for this. Being able to put a laptop into a bag for 24 hours and then getting back to exactly where you left it was a very nice feature.

Home insurance isn't required in all states. Usually it is the lender that requires. Of course it's still a good idea to have it.

I agree with you, but the "originalists" have abused even that notion to the point where they use originalism as an excuse to do whatever they can get away with.

Umm, I'd rather wear an itchy shirt than cut off my arm. The level of discomfort is orders of magnitude different. Also, I can take off the shirt at the end of the day, but I don't get my arm back.

It is, because it depends on the country and decade that we're talking about. Best I can tell is that it is a distinction without a difference.

The goal of democratic socialism is not communism, generally. I'm sure there are a range of individual goals.

Democratic socialism is closer to a fully capatalist system than it is to communism, but attempts to limit capatalism in ways that could be detrimental society (regulation and taxation). Additionally, it implements programs that benefit society (public infrastructure, Healthcare, etc).

A completely capatalist society will kill itself. A fully communist society will grind to a halt. A careful balance between those extremes can deliver many of the benefits of both. Finding that balance is difficult and there are reasonable debates to be had about how. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unreasonable people in power.

Researchers need to be able to publish negative results or failures. They need to be encouraged to do that. Funding needs to support that.

Right now it doesn't. Mostly only "successes" are published and that's what gets further funding.

A few years ago Google got rid of a lot of their messaging apps. Now they need to make more so that they can have more.

Surely the warning is justified though? Yes it's a hurdle, but it seems reasonable and other platforms also warn users about apps from unverified sources, so it is common within the industry. If the play store is determined to be a monopoly, and gets broken up or off, I think a warning would still be warranted.

The default install thing used to be an issue, i.e. MS Explorer, but people seem to have stopped caring since all OS's now have pre-installed junk.

I guess the argument could be made thst the play store should allow downloading of other app stores? I'd be in favor of that, but I don't know if the courts can force something like that.
