  • The real problem we have now is that there is so much information, we cannot store it all. You can't just throw things out either because you truly have no idea what seemingly worthless things we produce are going to be deemed of significant value later on.

That old blurry photograph of your great aunt with a photo bomb of some random dude? It is the only photo of the zodiac killer. That random shitty video in portrait mode of you driving through your home town in Kansas is the only surviving footage of what used to exist there before the 2046 asteroid impact that wiped out the state.

You just never know what truly matters until its gone.

  • I believe you are correct. It makes it worse though because if I like it, collapse, reopen and notice it didn't stick, people would notice it didn't stick. So they end up re-liking it which has the actual effect of cancelling out the original like when refreshed.

This can be avoided by knowing about the issue and why it happens, but that is unlikely for all users to know.

  • As long as nobody tries to attack us again, we might just even stay out of the war permanently. I like the idea of helping prevent the takeover of a country by a bunch of other countries with a finger wiggle while saying "ah ah ah, not today!"

  • We already had the tanks to use. They aren't getting used otherewise. While our military budget is ridiculous, if there were ever a great reason to spend it, supporting an ally to help knock down a world power such as Russia for significantly cheaper than we ever could on our own would be it. We don't even have any American troops dying in this war.

We need healthcare, yes. But what we gain by helping Ukraine is not insignificant. Also it is the right thing to do, so more points there.

  • I will give credit where credit is due. The best steak I have ever had was some cold leftovers from a very fancy restaurant my parents had visited for an anniversary. I dream of cuts like that again.
