  • I've been vaping type 2 cannabis for several years with a dry herb vaporizer. It's great, I have these small cartridges that I fill with herb and that's good for me for a session. It's a relatively low THC hit but it's perfect for me.

A few months ago I went to a dispensary in a neighboring state and picked up a disposable THC vape pen. It is really cool and convenient, but it can fuck. you. up. With the dry herb you've gotta pull on it very hard, especially the first hit... and that's how I hit the disposable the first time. Ruined my night.

  • I’d rather just have a thicker phone, but a lot of people wouldn’t

I think this is a case where the corporations were telling people what they wanted rather than people really asking for thinner phones. Same thing with bezels, I don't know anyone who asked for the screen to go all the way to the edge (or worse, curve around onto the sides). Apple and Samsung said 'this is what people want' when in fact it was what their marketing department wanted because they wouldn't be able to sell the iGalaxy N+1 if it was slightly thicker or heavier than the iGalaxy N.

  • It sounds like transferring an owned print book to digital and using it to train AI was deemed permissable. But downloading a book from the Internet and using it was training data is not allowed, even if you later purchase the pirated book. So, no one will be knocking down your door for scanning your books.

This does raise an interesting case where libraries could end up training and distributing public domain AI models.

  • That's absolutely correct, the Senate cannot do that.

The Postmaster General can though... and the Postmaster General is appointed by the Postal Service Governance Board, which is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

  • Krispy Kreme employs 22,800 people, yet the personal information of 160,000 were stolen. Why do they have personal information for so many people, and why are they keeping that information?

We need privacy laws in this country that make companies scared to hold on to personal data for any longer than absolutely necessary.

  • A reporter who saw the vehicle said that it would look like a police vehicle from a distance and at night, but during the day it looked off, like you'd think 'that might not be a real cop'.

And they've identified the suspect and he's not a cop.

  • But if it was the other way around ... Donald Trump would be on truth social calling for that person to be hung...

Not just that, but he would be demonizing the whole Democrat party, saying how their dangerous rhetoric caused this and the party needs to be outlawed and its leaders arrested.

  • I get the appeal of Bambu printers, I've been tempted myself to get one... but the thing that keeps me away is that they are closed source and I don't want a world with closed source 3D printers because when the company goes evil - and they all eventually do - I don't want to be held hostage. I've fallen in that trap before and don't want to again.

Don't give them backlash, instead stop using their printers. Release your models under a license that requires the printer that prints it to be open source. Let friends and colleagues know the dangers of supporting such a company.
