  • A reporter who saw the vehicle said that it would look like a police vehicle from a distance and at night, but during the day it looked off, like you'd think 'that might not be a real cop'.

And they've identified the suspect and he's not a cop.

  • But if it was the other way around ... Donald Trump would be on truth social calling for that person to be hung...

Not just that, but he would be demonizing the whole Democrat party, saying how their dangerous rhetoric caused this and the party needs to be outlawed and its leaders arrested.

  • I get the appeal of Bambu printers, I've been tempted myself to get one... but the thing that keeps me away is that they are closed source and I don't want a world with closed source 3D printers because when the company goes evil - and they all eventually do - I don't want to be held hostage. I've fallen in that trap before and don't want to again.

Don't give them backlash, instead stop using their printers. Release your models under a license that requires the printer that prints it to be open source. Let friends and colleagues know the dangers of supporting such a company.

  • The solution is to have stronger privacy laws.

If everyone followed your solution then Graphene will become the normie os and Facebook will start targeting it. Choosing an esoteric system for yourself is a good way for a free people to protect their privacy, but it won't scale.

When we write our new constitution we need to include privacy as a right.

  • I just saw an amazing concert at a venue built and paid for by the local government of a nearby town. You can only get tickets through the venue (no Ticketmaster), parking is free, prices are reasonable and it is an absolutely beautiful venue that artists want to perform in.

This is in a very red state (and very red town) in the US. There's still some good stuff out there if you look away from the horror show that's our federal government.

  • "I have seen icebergs that are rolled, what they say have rolled in the beach with some rocks in it. This one here is completely different. It's not only that he is all black. He is almost ... in a diamond shape," Antoniussen said in an interview with CBC Radio's Labrador Morning.

A Newfie fisherman gave an interview... I'd love to hear that audio.

Edit: FOUND IT! And it's as good as I was hoping: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-31-labrador-morning/clip/16149859-whats-water-a-rare-iceberg-spotted https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-31-labrador-morning/clip/16149859-whats-water-a-rare-iceberg-spotted

I was curious if anyone had actually tested it or not, and I found the video above where they get right into it, without any intros or family history or begging to like & subscribe... just a short video where they test it and find that, YES!, the brake lights do come on when you use the steering wheel paddle brake or when you're in L gear and take your foot off the accelerator.

  • I just got a Chevy Volt and when I let up off the accelerator it will start the regen and significantly decrease my speed. I assume that my brake lights are coming on because so far no one has rear-ended me or yelled at me for not having brake lights. I wish there was a good way to tell for sure though. I think it's Hyundai that does not engage the brake lights for situations like this, as I've about hit one before.

  • Why does AT&T have customer SSNs?

I mean, I get that they need those in order to run credit checks... but once the credit check has been run they have no need to keep that data.

We need REAL data protection laws that make even the largest corporations afraid to keep user data for any longer than absolutely necessary.

  • Oh, I get it and I don't blame my employer. They are also moving some manufacturing from China to the US, however it won't be at my location... funny enough, it just so happens to be in a blue state.

If we weren't talking about real people's lives it would be funny to see just how miserably the trump tariffs have failed.

  • I work for a company that manufactures medical equipment. We have manufacturing sites all over the world, but the vast majority is manufactured in the US. Last week it was announced that 20% of the manufacturing at my site is going to be moved to China due to the tariffs.

Lots of people in my deep red state will be losing their jobs because of this.
