My scale looks similar to this. If I leave it on it goes into sleep mode which still drains power slowly but turn on instantly as soon as there is weight on it. If I hold the power button when I'm done it turns off and makes a beep and then I have no issues turning it back on months later. Still on original batteries after 2 years.
I worked for an industrial auction company where I had to cold call plants that were being closed down or going bankrupt. These guys received dozens of calls a day from people like us while they were dealing with losing their jobs. Trying to buy all the equipment and profit on their ill fortune.
The goal was to be the first to call them before any of the other places. So once I had to break the news to the plant manager they were getting shut down. Sometimes the information was bad and nothing was happening to their plant but they still got tons of calls from vultures looking to pick their bones. It was a shameful job and all for just $32k a year. The owner had 2 rolls Royce phantoms and a private jet.
It always cracks me up when people say private companies can do the job better with less regulation. Most businesses fail and the news is constantly full of stories about fraud.
I let the squirrels have at it, even giving them a hole to get the seeds. Then when it starts rotting into the compost can. I gotta have that pumpkin spice dirt.
Add this to the news that Mike Johnson said they will end Obamacare and I can't believe anyone would vote for Trump. He's going to raise your costs, reduce government services, kill healthcare as we know it, the list goes on and on.
Once I got deep into a hobby I felt less need to share anymore. Gives me something to focus on and feels separate from the grind. Perhaps your life needs more balance?
Traverse City is this predictable enigma where wealthier and wealthier people move there, displace the locals who worked at the businesses, then complain about the lack of services because workers have to leave. They recently set aside a large plot of land for low-income housing then decided it was too nice and built for the wealthy instead. Beautiful place though.
Well you're not going to replace it with a less trusted method. Ask any company that ran into China in the 90s whether they would do it again. I guarantee their version of this will be more restrictive and offer 0 protections for the businesses that use it. They all know the Chinese government just seizes whatever they want whenever they want it.
The only thing they've broken is their own economic growth. Alarms are going off in China particularly. Hard to make a recovery plan when government also controls the industry. Their last round of stimulus did absolutely nothing.
