  • Then why is the supply chain still fucked? Store shelves still look picked over/overpriced and I constantly have to wait for pharmacies to restock basic medications. And don't even get me started on the rollercoaster that is daily gas prices. I don't give two fucks if CEOs are doing well. The people are NOT doing well. Every other day we see some asinine article where some blowhard CEO is complaining about people are "lazy." People aren't lazy, they are apathetic because there's nothing to gain from hard work anymore.

  • I really want to have a positive outlook about this type of thing because I do want to help people. That being said there is nothing stopping retail from marking the price back up to what it would've been with the sales tax and just pocketing the extra.

  • I have never seen automation fully replace the need for human workers. You still need people to maintain the equipment. All automation does is increase the amount of output. And when you start running machines at capacity you find out real quick just how much maintenance they really need.

  • I'm sure it really is worth the money but I'm a patient gamer because I'm cheap. I'd rather support a good company in other ways like buying soundtracks and swag versus getting burned on a overpriced game.

  • I've been holding out on getting Stray for about a year now. I'm just not willing to pay full price for a relatively short game.

  • Small town pissing contest becomes nationwide concern because once again police show everyone that they believe they are the law. The irony in this is the paper never even had to publish the story to get it out. The cops did that with their actions.

  • You can block publishers. Search the name of the company, go to their page, and block from there.

  • I picked up 428 Shibuya Scramble for the visual novel fest on Steam. I'm really enjoying it and I think it holds up surprisingly well for its age.

  • That's because American health insurance is not really insurance it's a discount plan. Any of you remember being forced to sell those overpriced coupon books as fundraisers in school? That's what American health insurance is. It's a shitty discount plan/coupon book that you are forced into buying from your employer and the plan itself makes sure you pay as much out of pocket as they can legally get away with.

  • Geez the judge told the jurors that they would never have to serve jury duty again because the case was so traumatic. I don't even want to imagine what everyone involved went through.

  • I absolutely loathe this new shuffle feature. I want to listen to my playlists not be spoon-fed advertising garbage. I remember one year Spotify had this thing where it was injecting popular x-mas songs into your playlist in the free version. What's worse was you couldn't skip the songs. I went back to using old MP3s for the rest of the month.

  • That's because these executives don't care about learning. They want examples that they can use to rationalize their shitty decisions.

  • While I agree with this I still can't stop eating it. Mint chocolate chip is sooo good.

  • This is what I use at home and it's just as good as Camtasia which I use at work.

  • The lobbyist, Matthew Albright, used to work at the CMS division that implemented the electronic payment rule. In fact, he was its chief author. He had since moved on to Zelis, a company that handles electronic payments for over 700 insurers and other “payers."

    This is straight up corruption.

  • Yesterday was my birthday too. I celebrated by buying a new tire for my car (had a bad flat). Happy birthday to both of us 🎉

  • When is his new album dropping?

  • I feel like this is fair to just ask if they know someone who can help. It gives the person an out in case they are on break or don't work there. I know I've been asked for help in places where I'm just another customer.

  • I like science and Mander has a lot of neat science communities. I also keep a back up account for Lemmy.world.
