Was going to say how many months do we give it till it hits the graveyard / a duplicate slightly different google service gets announced to supersede it.

If you you don’t want anyone else on your server to be exposed to this bot/instance, you should convince your admin to defederate from lemmit.online. Since there are no other users on here, there will be no harm done.

Reading the FAQ I have changed my mind to defederate.

A lot of people I know had fairly large DVD collections but never accumulated very many Blue-ray releases.

Even more so when you realize they aren't even digital, they use analog NTSC, PAL signal modulation / encoding.

BlueRay came out in 2006, there are Teens that have probably never seen a CD or DVD.

Blockbuster died around 2010, apple stopped shipping optical drives in the last of their computers around 2013, Streaming became the norm, there might be teens that haven't used "Discs" for video and have streamed everything.

opensuse is one of the roots / oldest distros, along side debian, redhat and fedora.

Still surprised suse as a distro is around given the huge numbers of popular forks of debian and redhat.

Content -> default sort will not update to “new” when I select “new” for some reason.

Nearly all my preferences reset with the update.

Very strange seeing Oracle try and play the “good guy”, I am 100% sure if they could find a way to convince anyone other than there existing customers to run their distro they would be finding ways to extract extra cash out of the deal anyway they could.

Both IBM and Oracle are on my “do no buy” vendor list due to horrible licensing practices and costs.

Starting from scratch even if everything is nearly the same since HA changes so fast it will clean out any conversions, backward naming standards etc.

I think the way my z-wave devices where named by default has changed 3 times since I have been using HA early on. HA migrated these names each time, but new devices show up differently. Also all sorts of deprecated stuff still in parts of my config etc.

I will probably be moving in the next year and plan to replace a lot of my BASE devices with more reliable options then layer in the old ones, or the old ideas with new devices.

Yep, my instance did a forced log out because of the exploit over at lemmy.world. App doesn't toss any errors but just keeps showing you cached content.

Sounds like if you add a second account you can delete one, so maybe I will try creating a throwaway and see if that works.
