  • So is the conspiracy that she's being coerced? Because she's a billionaire in the land of legal political bribery, so she has the means to tell our politicians what to do far more than the other way around. She's allowed to have and to express a political opinion, just like any other random person.

You ever notice everything and everyone Republicans don't like is a conspiracy against them?

"OW! Stubbed my toe! God damned wall corner is a leftist plot to injure me so I can't vote for the fuhrer!"

Sorry, the soft serve machine is being cleaned right now.

"Did Brandon get to you?! Who sent you to deprive me of soft serve?! Fucking Pelosi?!"

  • I've already given my position. I want to support the people of Ukraine defending themselves from genocide. I would, however refuse to do so if the ONLY way to support them is to shoot through the people of Palestine defending themselves from genocide. Would it be worth you killing someone/everyone you love to provide aid to Ukraine? Killing Palestinian civilians should be just as repulsive a proposition, the only difference is bias.

In giving them more money post genocide commencement, it is now an American-Israeli coordinated genocide as far as I'm concerned, just as we did with the Native Americans.

  • So the genocide against Ukraine isn’t worth as much to you as the genocide against Palestinians?

This claim really shows your bias. I consider a Ukranian and Palestinian life to be of equal value as human life. I don't respect the divisive construct of nation states, they keep us at each other's throats to maintain the power structure of people who consider all human life except theirs expendable, so your life means the same as theirs to me, a human life.

The point is, choosing to shoot through either of them to save either of them makes it our atrocity. Saving an innocent life is never worth taking one in the process. It isn't a wash.

You can say it doesn't matter all day, but if that were the case, there wouldn't be pressure to do it. Giving money to Israel today is giving money to the Nazis in the 1930s, or Russia today, even if they already have enough money.

But hey, we topple entire governments by military force to make way for our capitalists to exploit their resource markets, so baddies gotta baddie. It's not the US ever gave the tiniest of shits about basic human decency. We had to be attacked by the axis to finally fight the Nazis. We were never an ethical people.

  • And the punishment? More money for their genocide. Let that be a lesson to them, don't make us cut you another blood soaked check!

I would say history won't be kind, but the longer I live, the more I realize humans are just intrinsically cruel and are a blight upon the Earth. Just another mistake of evolution, like the mass extinction that was caused by a build up of trees capturing too much carbon before the bacteria that could break them down had evolved. We seem to exist to make on another suffer trying to fuck one another over to "win," while not giving shit one about the collateral damage on all the other species that live here that have nothing to do with our perpetual war on ourselves.

The longer I stare at humanity just doing what humanity does, the more I identify as a misanthrope.

  • We're drenched in the blood of non-combatant Palestinians we're helping to murder more of to do that noble thing, so it isn't cut and dry.

Geopolitically and strategically it makes sense because of our tangible interests of holding the line of Russian aggression, just like licking Saudi Ass as we do, but ethically it isn't defensible. We passed a law saying we'll pay (more) to murder (more) helpless innocents that are irrelevant to our interests, in order to save other innocents whose self-defense aligns with our geopolitical interests.

  • The capitalists would sooner raze this nation to ash using the means of state violence they control than cede their legalized bribery power and governmental capture they spent decades and billions getting codified.

That's why we need either revolution or collapse before things can even begin to improve. The good news is that, even in light of our peasant's cowardice, self-delusion, and oligarch stoked infighting preventing revolution, collapse will come, entropy is absolute, and when corruption and decadence comes to run the table, Rome. Always. Falls.

I just wish I could be there to see the currency we were propagandized to beat each other to death over being used as kindling for warmth as we remember we need one another again without their media in our ear stoking animosity, competitiveness, and jealousy to keep us divided.

  • I would prefer to help Ukraine DEFEND itself from a persistent aggressor trying to conquer it, as we have the ability.

That said, it most certainly isn't worth further participating in an ongoing genocide to accomplish that.

Would have preferred neither given that it was all or nothing. We aren't doing right getting more Palestinians murdered to save more Ukranians, I understand the decision purely strategically, but no, it doesn't balance itself out ethically.

  • A crash just lets the capitalists buy up more for nothing with their shameful human exploitation hoards from their last trip to the value extraction casino.

More for the capitalists and less for everybody else. That is humanity's current driving force in practice.

The capitalist's cruelty and the rest of humanity's deluded acceptance of it really makes climate change look more like salvation than damnation. At best, pain might wake the masses up when their meager subsistence opiates dry up, and at worst, extinction is better than the dominion of cruel sociopaths exploiting and propandizing their own species to self-flagellate for them in perpetuity.

We don't need another crash sale for them, we need collapse. We need the paper they hoard as symbols or power to be of more value as kindling. This civilization isn't repairable. "But people will suffer!" People are suffering, go to your nearest homeless city in your nearest population center if you believe otherwise, and suffering without hope or end as long as this global economy exists and has its tentacles capturing every world government to serve the capitalists at all other's expense. At least collapse would bring faint hope for a better world that no rational person could have today.

  • That's exactly it. I miss the beautiful lie that never truly existed.

I lamented my big ex for a years who left me for someone with money. Oddly it was a Wes Anderson film, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, that broke my fever.

He had a submarine on his ship that was once called Jacqueline but the name was crossed out. At some point his new found son asked who Jacqueline was, and Steve says the damndest thing:

    "She didn't really love me"

That was the important bit missing in my heart. There wasn't something that had been truly lost, it was never there to begin with. The person I thought I loved was a mirage and a facade. I'm sure for some that would make it worse, but it helped me greatly.

  • Imagine despising the country that facilitated the acquisition of your embarrassing hoard of wealth to begin with this much.

Does Jeff treat his parents that gave him a quarter million to start with this much disrespect as well? Or was their part in facilitating his success one that he actually acknowledges?
