  • If you are indecisive, and want to game, get Nobara.

Its pretty much ready to go out of the box, regularly updates, and has tools to make updating things like SteamTinkerLaunch and GEProton easy and effortless.

  • yeah yeah, people said the same thing about google home and amazon alexa for years.. until data leaks proved that was a lie, too.

  • I can install and play pretty much any single player game I want, even new releases, and I am confident I will be able to play it with no significant/noticable issue... and on the offchance there is one, it will most assuredly be fixed within a couple days with a proton update.. and honestly its been like 2 years since that last happened to me.

The only time I even have to think about installing a game, and thus have to check protondb, is when I want to install an MMO or Multiplayer game...and a shocking amount of those work, too. Just not all of them, because of invasive anticheat.

  • Yep

There are people that want to interact with the movie, like those rocky horror special showings.

but the vast majority of people just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Which is half the reason why VR will be a minority of gaming, and not mainstream. the other half, of course, being the insane costs.

  • yes, that still doesnt give the store your home address, phone number, etc etc like signing up for a rewards card does.

  • "You're a cultist!" screamed the cultist, angry at people for using something other than what the cultist prefers.

  • Its not mainstream. probably never be mainstream... Just like 3d TVs.

    Its a rich mans hobby.

the only reason the quest is "cheap" in comparison is because its facebook and when it comes to facebook.. you will always be the product. Its sold to you "cheap" compared to others, because they make that back and more on harvesting and selling the data they collect from you using it.

overwhelming majority of gamers use gaming to escape and relax. Jumping around a room exhausting yourself is kind of the antithesis to that.

  • VR is not mainstream gaming.

VR is a minority of a minority of a minority of gaming.

  • Yep. They want you to use apps, cause all the permissions you give the app makes it much easier for them to harvest all your data for marketing and selling purposes.

  • Loyalty cards werent a great thing either.

They werent to reward your loyalty, they were to tie your purchase history to an individual, So that information can be used and sold for marketing purposes.

It was basically the prototype for the invasive, information stealing apps we have today.

  • everyone wants to force you to use apps instead of websites, despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of apps are just websites..in a app wrapper, because normal websites and normal browsers have inbuilt protections for you.

    Apps don't.

Idiots install apps, give them the 400,000 permissions they ask for, then go on their merry way..ignorant to the fact that they just installed a data vacuum on their phone thats siphoning everything off of it to be used and sold and resold for marketing purposes.. Even the phone itself its not safe, cause its sitting there, listening to your conversations, even when not on a call, to more "Accurately" spam you with bullshit.

  • Ah, Thats even worse.. and better, story wise, at least.

  • No, don't Fuck the US. I dont want to pay for Trump and kins sins.

Just fuck Trump, Musk, and the republican party and its support/propaganda network.

I will gladly endorse having foreign forces enter america to arrest these traitors to humanity, to take them to the hague for trial and execution.

  • because you are running integrated graphics that can barely run your OS's UI, much less a game.

it has nothing to do with steam, or proton, or frostpunk.

You don't meet the minimum system requirements.

Before you have a fit over another game, you ain't playing anything made in the last 20 years on either of those. Or anything with 3d graphics.

Only thing you're playing on those is old school games like original Fallout, and original baldurs gate, and those sort.

  • Bruh, its like everything else from conservatives.

    Anything they say is projection.

They scream that democrats, gays, etc are pedophiles.

What group is on the news every day with a new child molestation arrest/conviction? Conservatives.

They laugh at and mock democrats for being snowflakes that get big hurt over existence.

What group is constantly whinging online about their feels being hurt over facts? and trying to hide their tears behind the the SDE of impotent rage.

Everything a conservative says about another group, is in fact a confession about conservatives. everything

  • ebooks have managed to pull the same scam that game developers pulled on gamers 20 years ago.

"ebooks will be cheaper! and with the fact that we wont have to pay for printing, shipping, storage, etc, You'll pay a lower price while the author/publisher still receive more money than they would have from the physical book! its a win/win for everyone!"

aaaand then as soon as they were accepted ebook prices became the same (or near enough) price as the physical version, and in a few rare cases, even more expensive. Resulting in the massive promised profits for publishers, and maybe authors, but no gain but lots of demerits (like obnoxious drm, and shit like amazon going onto your device to delete it cause they lost the rights or something, which has happened) for end users/readers

And thats first party, brand new books.

There is no second hand market for ebooks, like there is from physical. Si theres no browsing a place like Half Price Booked or whatever to find something that isnt in your normal wheel house but thanks to being pre-owed, its cheap enough to roll the dice on.

  • Yes, thats literally what I said, and totally not a projection of your own defeatism which is the actual problem.
