If yes, then why not. roll the dice.

If you cant afford to throw 200 euro in the trash? then obviously do the smart thing and don't buy a potentially seriously damaged/unfixable card.

I think a lot of thje problem is just wanting a cheap controller, and cheap controllers typically arent well made and have problems that can be mistaken for linux issued when used on linux.

Its why I ended up just buying a official PS5 controller on black friday for 50% off, wasnt cheap.. but doesnt have any of the problem the cheap PoS's have either.

when a game is open sourced its almost universally just the code, and not the art assets.

This is only speculation on my part, but I assume it has something to do with the headache of the art assets being used in media/advertising/etc and trying to detangle.

I mean, any system collapses if you don't have the people to actively participate in it.

America has a individualist culture. Thats why we have unions and stuff (for now, anyway..) and don't have to blow our bosses ego until 11pm every night.

Japan has a very..conformity driven culture. You conform to expectations around you, or you get ostracized heavily and treated like an outsider.

Which is a big driver for this kind of "I ahve to work till 5, then drink with my boss/coworkers until midnight, because if I dont I'll lose my job and be ostracized" stuff.

Just a reminder that a scant couple years ago, egg prices skyrocketed under claims of inflation..and were cut in half almost overnight when Harris threatened RICO investigations.

Which also had supermarkets like Kroger coming forward to admit to gouging (to prevent investigations into other shit they were doing)

and, imho, I think they didnt expect the opportunity trump presented globally, in his first term, but they chose to come out of the shadows and try to exploit it regardless, which is why they've had the stumbling blocks they have had that has given opportunity to fight it.

not only refused to restore the account, but still insisted he was a pedophile producing child pornography despite the cops and doctors and every other authority involved insisting he wasnt, and that the images were medically necessary, and refuse to even give/let him get a backup of all his family pictures, emails, etc.

If our parents and grandparents photos were digitized, they'd all probably be labled child porn producers, because almost every parent/grandparent/etc has some picture of their newborn getting a sink bath or some other completely harmless, and otherwise normal photo.

and I think its so they can artificially inflate their numbers. They arent doing shit to stop actual child exploitation, so they hammer hard on this shit so they can make a big show of "cracking down and stopping" it.

its a fucking scummy fucking browser that has a history of stealing money, hijacking referal codes (like honey just got in deep trouble over), installing unnecessary software without consent and more.

Its a classic example of using "BUT THE CHILDREN" to be invasive dickheads.

And it immediately reminds me of the story of the guy whose kid had a rash in the diaper area during covid, and the pediatrician requested pictures to remotely diagnose and treat, which google flagged as child pornography and called the cops on him, and banned/locked him out of everything (phone number, emails, pictures, etc etc) because he had everything on google.

and no amount of the police, or even doctor, insisting the pictures were medical necessity and not child pornography would convince google to restore his acount or even let him recover his number/email/pictures/etc.

or just disable play store and use an alternative store like aurora.

Then it'll never get installed in the first place.

I've used Nobara since..38? I think? and not encountered any of those issues. Its been stable, easy to use, user friendly, and most importantly.. absolutely flawless for gaming, without having to do any annoying shit like compiling my own version of STL to install it and stuff like that.

Honestly, in my experience its easier and more friendly than Ubuntu. . Which is saying a lot, since Ubuntu is basically the linux for new people.

Honestly, I only have one complaint slash negative thing to say about the my entire Nobara experience, and that is I wish the upgrading (Like going from 40 to 41) was more automatic, like it is with ubuntu where you just click yes and it gets to work.. But that isnt to say upgrading is hard or obnoxious, GE puts out an almost idiotproof guide on how to do it each time a new iteration releases that you can copy the commands from and do it without issue.

Or just use a browser, ffs.

Its pretty much ready to go out of the box, regularly updates, and has tools to make updating things like SteamTinkerLaunch and GEProton easy and effortless.
