  • Weight classes to take care of body differences? Those are to take care of body differences in the same gender! Lols.

  • I dont even trust the voting system. There has been many attempt at manipulating the results. Maybe America didnt allow this.

Doesnt matter though. This guy is awful and dangerous as president.

  • I guess. Doesnt bother me. Its their country, they can have the culture they want. I think all countries have been quite racist at some point. With time, it decreases and different people become more accepted.

Japan is an Island and probably not too open to immigration, so that explains the racism. We have all been there at some point as countries.

  • Its an app? No i still have a dumb tv. 50 inch plasma that has lasted 10 years now i think. And I like that its not smart, so it doesnt talk to random stuff on the internet.

I guess I will replace it soon but when I do, that tv gets no internet access. :)

  • The original post on lemmy.ml by the creator of Lemmy had a lot more details, so maybe just link to that one?

    https://lemmy.ml/post/29579005

Tldr: They are down to about 1000 dollars per developer and will have to take jobs and stop Lemmy development if they dont get 2500 dollars per developer.

  • Always liked Japan. Also a very beautiful country, with very humble and intelligent people.

  • You are paying for their programming, not their opinions. I dont think its a big deal if they have flaws or opinions i dont agree with.

So they dont like trans people. How does that even matter? Any trans person can use the platform anyway. The code doesnt have any opinions, its just code, and that code can be used to support trans people. The little opinions of the devs have no effect on this.

I cant believe how spoiled some people are here. We have a platform, free of ads, quality mobile apps, lots of instances, quite a lot of users. And its not owned by big tech. We own it.

Focus on the pluses here. I dont think another Lemmy will come along anytime soon. Alternatives are not even close in quality.

  • Those places suck and doesnt even have quality apps...

    I dont think its a non-issue.

  • I have doubts its the same for the body. Vitamins from a pill and vitamins from proper food...

  • I dont know why you say we in this context. Almost none of us have any control over the decisions of "the world". Its run by billionaires with their paid off politicians, corporate lawyers, judges...

Russia is very corrupt, China as well, USA is getting there...

The problem is not overpopulation, its that humans have no power. What if we wanted to stop spending money on warfare one day and focus all that money on building more high tech buildings, lowering prices of housing, increasing wages,....you know, positive things for humans and prioritize happiness for everyone.

Sounds like a dream right? Because you cant do that, you have no power. Thats the problem, not overpopulation. That can easily be fixed with money and visions, expanding public transport, investing in high tech trains etc etc.

Currently it feels like the only way the world would be able to work together for the good of humanity would be if there was a big asteroid coming, and everyone needed to work together for once, putting our little stupid differences aside. We could do that, but leaders are children and very low on empathy or interests in making life better for strangers.

  • I was using the official YouTube app since I wanted to use chromecast to get a video up on my tv.

I havent used revanced, seems interesting also. But Newpipe just does what I need so im happy.

Already have network wide adblocking but doesnt stop YouTube ads in their official app.

  • Yeah I have a few colleagues that did that too. But I dont want to support big tech by being paying user.

  • I tried YouTube today for the first time in years. Its unwatchable. The frog must have been slowly boiling for years to have so many people accept what Youtube is now. Just wow.

I managed to watch about 10 minutes but had about 5 ads during that time, taking up several minutes of my time. It broke my focus and I forgot what the video was about.

    Back to Newpipe.

  • Some people on wall street say we are going to have the greatest economy in history

Im not very educated about these things, but which countries have isolated themselves from free trade and are rich?

  • I wanted to like them but I dont know, I think they are more natural at the top still.

  • I have a colleague who even saves all his tabs using a plugin, just in case he will need them at some point.

I dont know, I never have problems finding what I need so dont need to save anything.

Tab groups are great though, I need them so I can have groups with our aws accounts at work. That way i can just quickly get in to any account.

  • And its a computer program! It has as much value as getting "we are sorry to see you go" on a web page.
