The same checks and balances meant to preserve democracy can sometimes become the same roadblocks preventing progress; How difficult should it be to enact policies?

Progress will eventually happen. Choosing to place progress first risks enabling smaller groups to concentrate power.
- Will it though? Looking at China, Russia or Iran I'm not so certain. In fact it seems to be regressing without anyone actively working for progress.
- Can you explain a bit more, please? I don’t quite follow the meaning here. A small group already has most of the power ( money is power and a few have almost all of it ). What is your preferred way to see progress?

Laws don't mean shit to the person who wipes their arse with the rulebook.
Progress is poorly defined.
What some people call progress, others call regression.
The answer is honesty, slow allows checks and political movements to build consensus and address the biggest issues
Difficulty is hard to measure - I'd say about yay much, but not a lot more.
It's the toughest problem for this very reason but thats why freedom of competition is critical here. We can allow systems to self correct through incentives and protections and thats exactly what most western democracies are doing!
Diversity has been hijacked as a ideological word but its literally the best and most sustainable long term strategy even in rigid markets like investment (I.e. hedging, index funds etc). So diversifying power, despite blocking, is really powerful despite what current autocrat wannabes want us to believe.
